Kingly launches upcycling project K
ingly has introduced an upcycling project which intends to retrieve textile waste not for recycling but for using it to create new products. During the manufacture of socks, small factory offcuts are produced. They’re a mixture of cotton, nylon, Lycra, elastane, and materials like polyester, polypropylene, and other fibres. It is impossible for these offcuts to be recycled as there is no way one can separate the different fibres. However, based on Kingly’s commitment to a better, cleaner environment, and in line with its ISO 14001 Environmental Policy, these waste fibres are now retained. The leftover fibres find a new life

as stuffing for printed pillowcases, furniture, etc.
Kingly already helps companies like Google, Samsung and Coca-Cola reduce their environmental footprint. Up until the end of October 2022, 25,075,314 litres of water was saved with 48 orders of Kingly upcycled socks. Moreover, 93,592 kW/h of energy was saved, the carbon footprint was minimised by 38,397 kg, and Kingly has prevented 4,235sq m from turning into landfill.
Kingly is one of only 52 GOTS-certified sock producers in the world. The company is also the first zero-waste textile company that creates sustainable products for the promotional industry.
Quality Print Services relocates to new purpose-built premises

uality Print Services (QPS) has relocated to brand new, purpose-built premises on the Seafire Business Park in Burscough as part of its ongoing commitment to delivering a high-quality service to customers.
The dedicated facility is significantly larger than the previous QPS premises and features a fully air-conditioned ink warehouse for the storage of a wide range of ink products including Nazdar digital inkjet inks and DuPont Artistri textile inks.
The new premises also houses a full demonstration suite for market-leading print hardware such as specialist UV flatbed printers from ColorJet and wide format print machines from Roland DG. In addition, the larger space will allow
QPS to store more spare parts on site, meaning the company can respond faster to customers’ requests and significantly reduce downtime caused by technical faults.
QPS completed the move to the premises in early December and is looking forward to welcoming the first visitors for live demonstrations of its printing technologies.
QPS managing director, Chris Bailey, said: “We’re incredibly excited to have moved to the new facility, which will allow us to deliver an even higher quality service to our customers. “The ability to run live demos of a range of kit on site, as well as store a greater selection of products at a single facility, will significantly benefit our valued customers across the UK.”
