New arrivals at Fruit of the Loom in 2024 F


ruit of the Loom is ringing in 2024 with two exciting pieces of news: the iconic brand is updating its range with four fresh new colours. As of January, the colours Desert Sand, Cranberry, Mountain Blue and College Green will be adding to the already diverse range of colours available at Fruit of the Loom. Another new arrival: two high-quality basics made of 100% ring-spun cotton. In the new year, the new Iconic 195 Jersey Shorts will be the new go-to piece for stylish, comfy unisex looks with extra leg freedom. Meanwhile, boys and girls can look forward to the new Kids Iconic 195 T – for bright, colourful outfits in outstanding quality.

New year, even more colours to choose from at Fruit of the Loom: to mark the change of year, the brand is presenting four new trend colours that will be available on selected T-shirt styles from the Iconic Collection: • Desert Sand: This soft beige tone is reminiscent of pale desert sand and is perfect for everyone that loves understated sand tones. Desert Sand goes great with classic colours such as black and white, but also looks amazing when paired with bolder colours in the spring.


• Cranberry: Intense and glowing – that’s the best way to describe the colour tone Cranberry. Anyone who likes the occasional eye-catcher will love this latest berry tone.


• Mountain Blue: The new colour tone Mountain Blue stands out thanks to its strong presence and is great as a colourful spring accent alongside white.


The GA celebrates International Women’s Day with Inspirational Women In Gifts Event

he second Women In Gifts conference, organised by The Giftware Association, was held at The Giftware Association’s HQ in Birmingham (7th March), as part of their International Women’s Day celebrations. Following on from the highly successful first Women in Gifts conference in December, the latest event featured four inspirational speakers and five retail panellists, together with women who work in the gift industry.


Highlighting remarkable women in the gifts industry and motivational speakers, it offered an enlightening and inspiring opportunity for networking that fulfilled all expectations. The GA’s CEO, Sarah Ward, opened proceedings with a positive message of the opportunities being together at an event like this presents for us all. After a fun ice breaker in which we played Talking Tables’ Phenomenal Women in History, the day kickstarted with the brilliant Meg Hawkins who celebrates ten years in business this year. Next to the stage was Chair of the National Committee for The GA, and

The middle of the day was an opportunity to network in a relaxed and informal manner, whilst also raising money for The Benevolent Society by shopping for donated gifts from The GA’s members. CEO Sarah Ward explained that The Benevolent Society is a charity that exists for the good of the members of the trade associations that sit within the British Allied Trades Federation. After a networking lunch, it was Fi Burge of BGifted’s turn to take the stage. Heather Watherston, a former director of The Lagoon Group and Green Board Games, then talked about her new venture, Whiz Kid Games, which designs educational games under the Go Genius brand, aimed at the toddler to tween market.


The brilliant Women in Gifts conference was brought to a close with a fantastic retail panel featuring retail experts, Sara Albright of Retail 100 Consulting, Laura Matheson of St Peters Garden Centre, Joanna Final of Social Enterprise UK - eBay for Change, Samantha Gibbs of Nest Gifts, and Alex Becket of Ivy and Rose Gifts.


• College Green: This green tone is living up to its reputation as the colour of nature: accordingly, College Green has an intense yet soothing effect on the eye. Combined with pale colour tones, it produces a sporty, cool look that is perfect for spring.


From January, selected T-shirts from the Iconic Collection will be available in the new trend colours as well as in other colours from the existing colour range. For instance, the Ladies Iconic 195 T will in future be available in the new colours Desert Sand and Cranberry. The men’s counterpart, the Iconic 195 T, will be available in all new colours as well as in the pastel tones Powder Rose and Soft Lavender. While the Iconic 150 T will ensure plenty of variety in the additional colours Sage and Mineral Blue, from 2024 the Kids Iconic 150 T will also be available in Sage and Powder Rose.


New releases from Roland DG

oland DG returned to FESPA Global Print Expo which took place in Amsterdam, where it showcased a brand-new line up of machines alongside some of the company’s most popular and versatile solutions.


Printers on display included the recently launched VersaOBJECT MO-240 which replaces the company’s popular LEF2 Series and is designed to elevate direct to object printing with unprecedented productivity. Other new devices on display included the newly launched VersaSTUDIO BD-8, marking the debut of a flatbed UV printer in the VersaSTUDIO series, and the BY-20 featuring Roland DG’s advanced Direct-To- Film (DTF) technology, catering to a wide spectrum of clientele within the apparel goods market. The BN2-20 desktop eco- solvent printer/cutter will completed the VersaSTUDIO line up.
