welcomed 2.6 million guests through its gates over the course of last year. With so much to experience, visitors certainly aren’t just paying one-day visits
either. Dubai Holding Entertainment CEO, Fernando Eiroa, explains: “In addition to the three theme parks and water park, there is a destination (Riverland Dubai) and three hotels onsite (LEGOLAND Hotel Dubai, the first LEGOLAND hotel in the region, launched in January 2022; Lapita Hotel; and Rove at the Park). This combined entertainment experience delivers a unique offering to our customers and also increases their average stay beyond a one-day visit.”
Record-breakers So, whether they stay for a day or a week, what can guests expect from the parks during their visit to the 25 million sq ft destination? Among the 100 rides and attractions on offer is a towering swing ride, the Skyflyer. Taller than the Great Pyramid of Giza, it is located in Bollywood Parks Dubai, a vibrant six-zoned park inspired by the best Bollywood blockbusters. Up to 24 passengers move up and down and rotate around the giant towers of this ride, which gives the feeling of hang gliding while experiencing stunning views from a soaring 460 feet tall. The Skyfaller has overtaken Florida’s Orlando Starflyer as the world’s tallest
swing ride - and it’s not the only record-breaker at Dubai Parks and Resorts, which is also home to the world’s fastest spinning single car roller coaster, Now You See Me: High Roller, which launched in the first quarter of this year. Themed to the heist thriller franchise ‘Now You See Me’, thrill-seeking passengers can head to MOTIONGATE Dubai to experience a seven-storey vertical drop at 70 kph on this 519-metre coaster.
Strategy for recovery New launches such as this have formed a key part of Dubai Holding Entertainment’s strategy to drive recovery from the pandemic. Another Q1 addition to MOTIONGATE Dubai in 2022 was John Wick: Open Contract, the world’s first roller coaster to use the IP of the action-thriller ‘John Wick’ franchise starring Keanu Reeves. The 310-metre ride has a high point of 36 metres and takes passengers to speeds of 70kph.

The recent launches of the Now You See Me and John Wick rides make up
two of the 15 Hollywood franchises being brought to life at MOTIONGATE Dubai, which brings visitors the best in branded entertainment from the legendary DreamWorks Animation, Columbia Pictures and Lionsgate Studios through 29 immersive rides and 40 attractions, plus 13 retail outlets and eight themed restaurants. MOTIONGATE Dubai offers endless movie-themed fun with a family emphasis
- little ones under three years old get in for free - and when it comes to family fun, of course, nothing can beat LEGOLAND. LEGOLAND Dubai and LEGOLAND Water Park make up the remaining two parks within Dubai Parks and Resorts. With its six themed lands and more than 40 rides, shows and building
experiences, LEGOLAND Dubai offers near-endless family adventures in classic LEGOLAND style - and LEGOLAND Water Park also makes a splash here. From its dedicated DUPLO toddler play area through to its Build-a-Raft River, this is the only water park in the entirety of the UAE to be designed specifically for children aged 2-12.
Delivering variety and value The outstanding variety of attractions and entertainment found within the Dubai Parks and Resorts offering is entirely deliberate. As the most recent addition to the Dubai Holding Entertainment portfolio, it reflects the Group’s wider strategic commitment to providing an immense range of options in order to cement the appeal of Dubai to visitors. “What is key to our parks is the integrated experience where you can stay,
play and be entertained within one destination. Plus, the immense variety offered within our portfolio allows a tourist visitor to gain multiple unique experiences,” explains Eiroa. And Dubai Holding Entertainment is certainly doing all it can to ensure guests
are able to make the most of their experiences. Creating value for visitors is a priority and has become an increasing area of focus in the wake of the pandemic. Eiroa adds: “This year, we launched our traditional Dubai Parks and Resorts Annual Pass, where we were able to combine additional experiences within
