Interactive X-Wall expands Battle Square across the UK

I

nteractive X-Wall is expanding its Battle Square concept internationally following the opening of a new installation at Hollywood Entertainment

Center in Enschede, the Netherlands. Battle Square transforms football into an

interactive competitive gaming experience. Inside an enclosed arena, players take on a range of digital challenges that combine accuracy, reaction speed, tactics, physical activity and teamwork. The concept has been designed for family

entertainment centres, leisure venues and competitive socialising destinations. It provides operators with an accessible group attraction that combines physical play with interactive technology and encourages repeat visits through a varied selection of games.

First Battle Square at a Dutch family entertainment centre Hollywood Entertainment Center Enschede celebrated its grand opening on 4 September. Located at the Go Planet Parc entertainment complex, the new venue brings together competitive socialising, interactive gaming and hospitality. The entertainment centre features more than 10

attractions, including duckpin bowling, mini-golf, racing simulators, interactive darts and football. Battle Square is one of the venue’s new

attractions and marks the first installation of the concept at a Dutch family entertainment centre.

OCTOBER 2026

Hollywood Entertainment Center also operates locations in Rotterdam, Eindhoven and Amsterdam. “The first Battle Square in a Dutch family

entertainment centre is an important milestone for us,” said Maikel Rijnenberg of Interactive X-Wall. “Battle Square fits naturally alongside activities

such as sim racing, interactive darts and mini- golf. Hollywood Entertainment Center is a strong example of where we see the leisure market moving: combining physical activity, gaming and competition with socialising and hospitality.”

Battle Square expands in the UK Interactive X-Wall is also growing its presence in the UK leisure market. Battle Square is already available at The Light in Huddersfield, where it forms part of the venue’s wider leisure and entertainment offer. A further installation will open soon at Hideout in Birmingham. Additional Battle Square projects are currently

being developed for other locations in the UK. Interactive X-Wall is also working on further installations in international markets across multiple continents. “The UK is an important growth market for

Battle Square,” Rijnenberg added. “Operators are increasingly looking for social experiences that combine technology with genuine physical participation. “Battle Square is easy for guests to understand, but the range of challenges and competitive

elements encourage them to play again. It works for families and children’s parties, but also for groups of friends and corporate visitors.”
