a few we can expect to take precedence in 2024 - including immersive tech, gamification and more eco-friendly measures. What they have in common is the fact that technology is helping to drive them all. Check out the latest tech-led sustainability measures on pages 20-21 - while our Cover Story (pages 22-23) is the perfect example of new technology by accesso transforming restaurant and retail experiences in theme parks. Elsewhere in this issue, we explore the recently expanded Avalon area of magical Toverland in the Netherlands (pages 24-25). The park has seen record attendance since this expansion - and with so much planned across industry, we’re sure to be seeing more record-breakers in the coming months!
January has been - as always - a pretty quiet month for industry. There’s a definite lull following the holiday season as parks see fewer crowds or even close altogether for a while. Meanwhile, manufacturers are putting their houses in order for the year ahead. There’s a lot going on behind the scenes - and some seriously exciting stuff to look forward to over the coming year. This is a somewhat news- heavy issue, and that’s because there’s so much planned across industry for 2024! Pages 6-18 are where you need to turn to find out what to expect.
