FEATURE: BETT SHOW HIGHLIGHTS

Even BETTer! B

uild better connections, collaborations and conversations at Bett 2024. With just a few weeks to go, we can’t wait to welcome the global education community to the ExCeL Centre, London from 24-26 January. Don’t miss out – this year’s show promises to be even BETTer than ever before!

Guided by our mission of driving positive change in education for BETTer learning outcomes, we’ve carefully curated a line-up of visionary speakers, industry experts and innovative thinkers who will share their expertise on the transformative power of education technology. Through a diverse array of keynote sessions, interactive workshops and insightful panel discussions, you will gain fresh perspectives and practical strategies to inspire your teaching practices.

Our new show theme

Today’s world sometimes feels like it’s changing faster than ever. From Artificial Intelligence to global warming, political changes, digitisation, urbanisation and the pandemic, forces extrinsic to education are nonetheless shaping the future of teaching and learning. A frontline defence for tomorrow’s world, educators are being forced to grapple with these changes, and Bett is here to help.

Our overall show theme this year is thus ‘teaching to thrive in fast-changing times’, and we’ll be exploring how educational technology can empower educators and learners to not only navigate uncertainty but to thrive in the face of it. We’ll be looking at generative Al (artificial

intelligence) and how it’s impacting education, as well as all the latest tech trends. There will also be a greater focus on inclusive education with more on neurodiversity and special education needs and disability (SEND).

The incredible line-up

Our sensational line-up and content sessions are ready to go - all we need now is you! Here’s what to expect at the EdTech event of the year… Starting strong on day one, award winning documentary presenter Louis Theroux interviews Hip Hop musician and founder of Chilli Con Carner, Loyle Carner in the Arena. Using his signature interviewing style, Louis will take a deep dive into Loyle’s inspirational journey, from becoming an award-winning Hip-Hop artist to founder of his own ADHD cookery school. This is a one-time interview exclusive to Bett UK - don’t miss it!

We often hear calls for more of the youth voice. Namya Joshi is an inspiring 16-year-old Minecraft Student Ambassador at Microsoft. Living life by her own motto #EachOneTeachTen she has helped more than 15,000 teachers and young people teach and learn through tech. Jason Arday, a renowned sociologist best known for his research on race and racism, will also be at the show. His appointment as Professor of Sociology of Education at the University of Cambridge this year made him the youngest Black person ever appointed to a Professorial Chair and one of the youngest people ever to be appointed to a full Professorship in Oxbridge’s history.

This, of course, is just a snapshot of the incredible speakers taking to the Bett 2024 stages. You can also expect to see Charlene White, Dame Darcey Bussell, Floella Benjamin, Andreas Schleicher, Alex Scott MBE and so many more!
