HELLO 2020!

Jay Rood Chief Risk Offi cer, Bet.Works

Bryan Blacke CEO and Founder of Hexopay

What was the most important occurrence for you in 2019?

From a business point of view, we have passed the start-up phase and are now a fully-fl edged, fully operating and profi table business. As a company, we hit milestones with our processing volumes exceeding targets by over 200%. We have been able to ensure the Hexopay brand is known in our main markets of the UK and Europe and have also done a lot of work to ensure we are a known and trusted payments partner in many emerging markets over multiple verticals.

What are you most excited about for yourselves in 2020?

Merchants looking to expand into emerging markets. We are constantly developing our platform and building out our portfolio of solutions which puts us in a prime position to work with merchants on achieving their 2020 goal to break into new markets. Our team is also growing rapidly; we are expanding into two purpose built offi ces across the UK, while also adding satellite offi ces across Europe and in South East Asia, LatAm and India. 2020 looks to be an exciting year for Hexopay.

What are you looking predicting for the iGaming sector in 2020?

What was the most important occurrence for you in 2019?

The most signifi cant moment in 2019 for me was to see the realization of a lot of hard work by the Bet.Works team come alive when our two clients, Elite Casinos and theScore Bet, launched in Iowa and New Jersey

What are you most excited about for yourselves in 2020?

Really looking forward to 2020 and the opportunities that are in front of Bet.Works with our clients and continuing this adventure with them and evolving our product and service for a best in class user experience.

What are you looking predicting for the iGaming sector in 2020?

I am predicting that sports betting will continue to lead the way in the sector and that the States that have been in a “wait and see” mode will be quick to get approvals going to embrace sports betting. The Operators that focus on product and technology enhancements will be the ones that win the day as the consumer will begin to demand a better seamless experience.

GIO JANUARY 2020 115

Global expansion of the industry in general. In particular, the explosion of the US market and the opportunities which will arise from new states legalising to further growth in states such as New

Jersey and Pennsylvania. The Brazil market is also an area we are monitoring and looking forward to regulations changing as more LatAm countries will follow. There is also the European Championships on the sporting calendar for us to take advantage of, with a signifi cant focus on countries outside of the EU taking a deep look into the online gaming sector and what legal/ regulation is needed to become a part of this great industry.
