al somo informamos el mes pasado, la industria de juegos de azar y apuestas en Latinoamérica sigue viento en popa con proyectos regulatorios, licitaciones y apertura de casinos, a la orden del día, desde Puerto Rico hasta, Paraguay, por lo menos.
En Puerto Rico, se vio la apertura del Blue Dolphin Casino en el
Embassy Suites Hotel, en Dorado, representando el retorno de esta actividad al hotel después de l cierre de su casino en 2019. El nuevo casino cuenta con 175 slots, mesas de juego y juegos electrónicos de ruleta, en un ambiente de lujo que ha dado empleo a 130 personas, además de la creación de unos 200 empleos indirectos. Yendo hacia el sur, existe bastante expectativa para ver como se
desarrollan los proyectos para legalizar el juego online en Chile, y sobre todo en Brasil, donde el proyecto de ley PL 442/91, que trata sobre el marco regulatorio del juego en el país y fue aprobado el 24 de febrero por la Cámara de Diputados, ya debe obtener el visto bueno en el Senado para finalmente ser firmado por la Presidencia y entre en vigencia. Según expertos, la legalización del Juego podría dar lugar a que
Brasil recaude 20 mil millones de reales de forma anual en impuestos, y al mismo tiempo generar 200 mil puestos de trabajo y formalizar otros 450 mil empleos. Y en medio de todo esto, estamos con los ojos puestos en el G2E
2022 de Las Vegas, en la segunda semana de octubre, donde como parte de la asociación entre Global Gaming Expo (G2E) y SAGSE, los miembros del Platinum Club de SAGSE tienen invitación exclusiva, para beneficiar y premiar el esfuerzo de hasta 30 operadores latinoamericanos que viajen a Las Vegas para participar en la feria internacional, que se celebrará del 10 al 13 de octubre. ast month we reported in this column about progress in the gambling and betting industry in Latin America as it continues to go from strength to strength. Regulatory projects, tenders and casino openings are the order of the day, from Puerto Rico to Paraguay, et al.
In Puerto Rico, the opening of the Blue Dolphin Casino at the
Embassy Suites Hotel in Dorado, represented the return of this activity to the hotel after the closure of its casino in 2019. The new casino has 175 slots, gaming tables and electronic roulette games, in a luxurious environment providing the creation of 130 jobs as well as about 200 indirect jobs in the offing. Further south in the region, there is a lot of expectation to see
how the projects to legalize online gambling develop in Chile and especially in Brazil, where bill PL 442/91, which deals with the regulatory framework of gambling in the country and was approved on February 24 by the House of Representatives, must surely get approval in the Senate before getting signed by the President to become Law. According to experts, the legalization of gambling could result
in Brazil gaining some US$4 billion yearly in tax revenues for the country, creating at the same time 200,000 jobs plus formalizing another 450,000 jobs.
And in the midst of all this, we have our eyes fixed on G2E
2022 in Las Vegas in the second week of October.
