VENEZUELA – Vuelven a abrir los casinos usando el dólar como moneda


En 2011, el desaparecido presidente Hugo Chávez aprobó el cierre total de casinos y bingos en Venezuela, y según datos del Sindicato de Trabajadores de Bingos y Casinos de Venezuela, en ese entonces, se vino el desempleo de unas 100.000 personas, Y no solamente eso, sino que los casinos y bingos venezolanos generaban


para el Estado unos US$1.800.000 anualmente. Según la expresidenta de la Asociación Nacional de Casinos y Bingos, Soraya Roye, “antes de que el Ejecutivo decidiera cerrar las casas de juegos, hace unos 12 años atrás, éramos una de las primeras industrias del país”. La noticia de la reapertura de casinos en Venezuela ha dado la vuelta


al mundo, con interés de casi todas partes en el nuevo futuro de los juegos de azar en el país sudamericano. Según Roye, la decisión de reabrir los bingos y casinos es muy acertada, aunque considera que se debería modificar el artículo 25, ya que obliga a los establecimientos dedicados al juego, a que estén ubicados exclusivamente en sitios turísticos, explicando que para la modificación es necesario realizar un referendo consultivo para declarar la zona turística. La experta considera que la reapertura de bingos y casinos en estos momentos de crisis podría brindar muchas posibilidades de empleo lo que va a contribuir a la recuperación económica que tanto requiere el país, y que ya están entrenando a personas jóvenes para trabajar en las casas de juego. “Hemos ido preparando nuestro propio pensum de estudios, registros con los alumnos y tenemos muy buenos instructores en Venezuela”. Roye concluyó comentando qué durante la actividad se va a permitir la inversión extranjera, sin embargo, precisó que “80% debe ser capital nacional y 20% capital extranjero”. En enero de 2020, el presidente de Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro había hecho referencia a la reapertura de los en su país, al anunciar la apertura de un “Casino Internacional en el Hotel Humboldt”. Casinos reopen after 12 years using USD as currency


In 2010, the late President Hugo Chávez’s executive order closed all casinos and bingos in Venezuela, and according to data from the Union of Bingo and Casino Workers of Venezuela - Sindicato de Trabajadores de Bingos y Casinos - at that time about 100,000 people lost their jobs. And not only that, but Venezuelan casinos and bingos generated for the
