With over 120,000 square metres assigned especially for ICE, the Fira Gran Via’s space will allow more creative opportunities for exhibitors, with room for expansion in future years. The facility holds up to 240,000 square metres of accessible, adaptable, and efficient space in seven different exhibit halls, and hosts some of the largest events in the world, such as MCW, ISE and now ICE. In 2026, there will also be a brand-new pavilion available, which would add another 3,000 square metres.
Salvador Bilburna, Press Director at Fira, explains: “Fira is not just a venue, it’s an organisation.” This attitude promotes economic growth and, according to Salvador, “makes you feel at home.” The venue enables exhibitors with more space to be creative, encouraging extravagant showcases, and compared to the Fira Gran Via, ExCeL was more limited and ‘wall bound. The increased scale of the venue will be apparent to attendees when entering the Fira Gran Via, as they will be welcomed by the largest LED transparent screen in Europe.
The move to Barcelona also provides opportunities to reach further into global markets. The gaming industry once thrived and will continue to thrive in London, as iGB L!VE will be moving to ExCeL next year. However, for ICE, being in the Spanish region allows further reach for the Latam market and will become a central hub for digital expansion, enabling exhibitors to use the global platform to launch new products and innovations.
‘Explore’ is a key concept at ICE 2025. Clarion aims to “not just provide another chapter in the story, but start a whole new book.” Clarion’s mission is for attendees to use the event as a launchpad for exploration, collaboration, and shaping the future of gaming. At ICE 2025, iGB Affiliate will launch a new networking space. “iGB INTRODUCING Meeting Hub” will connect 6,500 attendees, establish new connections, and build relationships with existing partners.
Encouraging a natural evolving process, the first year in the Fira Gran Via will feature five out of the seven halls available, with the potential to expand to all seven in future years, making use of the 200,000 available square metres. will be the home for online gaming, and Hall 5 will feature sports betting and esports. Clarion is focused on reacting to the positives and negatives from the first year of ICE in Barcelona, taking on feedback from the industry. Stuart outlines: “As partners to the industry, we carry numerous responsibilities which in this case means expanding the show but in a controlled and measured manner and line with the industry growth.” This transparency highlights Clarion’s aspirations for the future sustainability of the event, which will allow them to organically grow the event using the space that the Fira Gran Via offers. Attributing to the sustainability of the event, the Fira Gran Via has an artillery of 26,000 solar panels to provide all the energy that the event consumes.
