ynn Resorts Ltd. announced that it has been granted the first-ever commercial gaming operator licence in the United Arab Emirates by the country’s regulator, the General Commercial Gaming Regulatory Authority, Bloomberg reported.

The Las Vegas-based group is the parent company of Wynn Macau, one of the SAR’s six casino concessionaires. The gaming giant, founded by Steve Wynn, is currently developing a luxury resort on Wynn Al Marjan Island in Ras Al Khaimah, the company said.


The 1,542-room resort, being built in partnership with Marjan and RAK Hospitality Holding, will offer 22 bars and restaurants, along with a theatre for live performances.


Wynn will present its Al Marjan Island project to investors on 8 October. The company stated in August that it has already invested US$514 million in the resort, which is expected to open in 2027.

Jennifer Lai, director of innovation and public relations at Melco Resorts, shared these insights during a media gathering with the Korean press in Seoul, the nation’s capital In line with these initiatives, Melco Resorts anticipates more Korean visitors will visit its Macau resorts, including the City of Dreams Macau, Studio City Macau, and Altira Macau. Recent government data shows that the tally of Korean  2024, marking a substantial increase from over 110,000 Korean visitors during the same period in 2023, but still only 56 percent of the 2019 pre-Covid level.
