gaming industry. Over the previous 12 months we have been as uniquely pressurised as an industry, and across the supply chain we have had to adapt like never before in order to survive and prosper. On top of the obvious financial challenges as a result of the pandemic, the gaming industry supply chain has also had to deal with critical components shortages following increased demand from the consumer electronics sector. AMD’s decision to ‘de-prioritise’ casino gaming added an
extra layer of complexity to an already challenging situation, and in the spirit of using famous quotes to illustrate a point, it proved what Winston Churchill said as true: “Plans are of little importance, but planning is essential”. The last year for Quixant has been about preparing for the
future and giving the gaming industry solutions to deliver exceptional gaming experiences to a global consumer audience with a pent-up desire to enjoy the thrill of gaming once again. For all of us in the gaming industry it has been an
important time to focus on costs, but in a measured way. The past has been littered with the corpses of companies who in

challenging times focussed exclusively on cutting costs in the short term and failed to sufficiently invest in future growth. But investing in the future shouldn’t only mean spending money. To come out of this challenging business period in good shape it is also crucial to invest the time to review and reflect on current and future markets and strategies. For Quixant, having an even deeper understanding of our markets and customers has been a key focus of recent months. Our reflections on the industry and our own business have highlighted several interesting needs: A focus on reducing fixed costs: Across the industry, we are challenging our fixed costs burden. Outsourcing expensive technology development is increasingly being considered, as are innovative supply chain solutions to reduce duplication of costs. Quixant has been building a range of supply chain solutions to offer options to our customers, which will ensure fixed costs can be minimised; balance sheet impact of stock holding can be removed; and lead time can go from months to minutes. To maximise power and value: Game developers are looking for solutions which enable creativity without compromise on power or performance; but at a cost which is appropriate to the market they are in.
