leading London interior design firm David Collins Studio are scheduled to launch later in 2021. The event was held at the property’s Crystal Palace,


designed in classic Victorian style, the glass and iron atrium features a 33-metre-high stained-glass ceiling with a full-scale Shaftesbury Memorial Fountain. The opening ceremony was attended Vice Chairman of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Committee Edmund Ho Hau Wah, Secretary for Economy and Finance Lei Wai Nong, representatives from the Central People’s Government Liaison Office in the Macau and the new Director of Macau’s Gaming of Inspection and Coordination Bureau (DICJ), Adriano Ho.

Macau Legend still aiming for gaming license of its own


acau Legend Executive Director and CEO, Levo Chan Weng Lin, indicated that the company will continue to develop the offerings provided by the Macau Fisherman’s Wharf area this year despite


the pandemic background. “We’re now working hard for a new plan for the Macau


Fishermen’s Wharf […] to facilitate Macau’s development as the global tourism leisure centre,” Mr Chan said at the Macau Legend media Spring Lunch, one of his fi rst public appearances since he took over as the company’s CEO. Chan officially replaced Melinda Chan Mei Yi as Macau Legend Development’s CEO in December, 2020 following a reshuffle in the company’s shareholding structure following investment by the Tak Chun Executive Director.

Director and President of the Macau Fisherman’s Wharf International Investment Limited, noted to the media afterwards that the gaming company is still focused on obtaining a gaming license of its own in the future public gaming tender. Macau Legend operates several hotels and non- gaming entertainment facilities and provides gaming services to gaming operator SJM Holdings at Legend Palace Casino, Babylon Casino and Landmark Casino, with new gaming licenses to be granted by the local government in 2022. “If the government gives chances to local companies and we get the chance to do take part in the tender, of course, we will try our best,” Melinda Chan noted.
