And what are the negatives ones – the obstacles to growth?
The biggest negative factor is the obstacles created by governments concerning tax and legislation. In some countries in Europe and beyond, gambling still has a negative connotation. And higher taxes and stricter legislation squeezes the way we do business. But in one way it is also a positive. It creates a higher barrier to entry and keeps the bad operators out of the market. We will learn to operate within these boundaries and as a company we are still small and nimble enough to learn to be able to deal with it.
Looking at your entire career, what do you think was your smartest move?
Starting DWG. And not taking on partners. I risked my life savings on it and it hasn’t always been easy. I started out working from my home and have now built a company with 50 plus people. Having created job opportunities and to build the company to where it is today makes me extremely proud.
And dumbest one?
Fortunately, I don’t have too many regrets. I accelerated as quickly in my career as anyone could expect, so I would just be nit-picking things in hindsight. At certain points I think I should have brought on VC money, to accelerate DWG faster, but now I know I absolutely made the right decision. Owning 100% of DWG is completely satisfying and gives me the freedom as CEO to move in any direction on a whim.
What do you think the igaming space will look like in ten years’ time?
I think it will be easier for players. Easier to play, deposit, withdraw, sign-up, authenticate. These things are currently causing a lot of headache for the customer. More markets will also open for sure,

including the better part of the U.S. Players will also be gambling differently, using different social mechanisms; this is emerging even as we speak.
If you’d never embarked on this career, what other line of work would you have liked to pursue? I would like to have aspired to F1 racing; I really like cars.
