E
very so often, we get a reminder of how short our time on the planet is, and it
makes us stop and think. But sadly, it only usually makes us stop and think for a short time; we only re-evaluate our relationships for a brief period, and when the reason for that introspection fades with time, we usually go back to our old habits and our old ways, good and bad. We’re only human, after all. We get caught up in the day-to-day, we get caught up in the trivialities that we thought were behind us for a while because we caught a glimpse of the bottom-left corner of the big picture. I have wondered in the past what I would tell my
teenage self if I could speak to him. Would it be ‘don’t worry about zits, you will still get them in your 40s’? No. Would it be ‘You won’t get any taller, unlucky’? No. It would be, simply: ‘You’re alright.’ So I just wanted to share that with you, in case nobody has told you that today, or this week – you’re alright. Have a good day.
