COVER STORY: JCM

We have made the new series compatible with the apparatus of older models. So the industry doesn’t need to change the faceplate, connectors, power supplies, nothing

“ ” CI: Is the UBA Pro series future-proofed?

MS: Absolutely. We designed the UBA Pro family so that we were able to improve it if there are specific demands from operators for new technology and needs. It is even modular in a way, so we can meet future expectations quickly and easily as they arise. For example, the European Central Bank will expect the

market to recognise and reject dye-stained banknotes from 2023; for gaming, they will be rejected from machines and we are ready to deal with such hurdles within the new series.

CI: Is the UBA Pro series compatible with your ICB technology? That would be a real bonus for customers.

MS: UBA Pro has full Intelligent Cash Box connectivity; this is a successful system in the casino industry as it helps to avoid double-counting for your back office. The readout of the cash box is the first count, so when it is opened and counted, that is the second count; if they match, it’s done and a lot of time is saved. ICB compatibility is another part of backward compatibility and there is no need to change anything on this end, too in order to install a device of the UBA Pro Family. We made the UBA Pro series this way deliberately to help our customers.

CI: UBA Pro is just the three models – for now…?

MS: At the moment, yes it is – validator, twin recycler with two drums, and quad recycler with four drums. There are other variances like different cash box sizes, but this is basically the present suite, as you can see on the front cover of this magazine.

CI: Where are you showing it? Is it coming to any industry expos?

MS: JCM is exhibiting next at the BEGE show in Bulgaria, and of course G2E in Las Vegas in October, so customers can come and see the new products in action. Personally I am looking forward to meeting all of the major European OEMs in Bulgaria at BEGE, and everyone in Las Vegas at G2E. It’s going to be quite a year.
