BRASSWARE & ACCESSORIES Matt Broughton

BKU’s Matt Broughton spoke with Ben Bryden, Sales & Marketing Director for RAK Ceramics UK.
A
s we approach the end of 2024, it’s been a year of steady progress for RAK Ceramics, as Ben Bryden explains: “While much of the year has been focused on enhancing our product offerings and maintaining quality, we’ve stayed committed to delivering innovative, stylish solutions for every bathroom space.
“In the coming months, we’re continuing to refine and expand our product range, with a spotlight on our new brassware collections. A key launch this year has been the RAK-Ingot range, which introduces a stunning selection of finishes including brushed gold, brushed nickel, matt black, allowing homeowners to add the perfect finishing touch to their bathrooms. Matching accessories, such as towel rails, robe hooks, and shelving niches, make it easy to create a cohesive look.”
Coloured Brassware
The company’s coloured brassware offers a luxurious yet versatile approach to bathroom design. With finishes like brushed gold and brushed nickel, it’s easy to create a bathroom that feels both modern and elegant. Matt black and chrome bring a sleek, minimalist edge, perfect for
those who want a contemporary feel. The beauty of this range lies not only in its aesthetics but also in its durability - with all our brassware coming with a 15-year guarantee for added peace of mind.
“Cohesion is becoming increasingly important in bathroom design,” says Ben. “Customers are looking for ways to create a harmonious and unified look, where every element complements the overall design. This is why our brassware collections, are designed with matching finishes across taps and accessories. Whether it’s brushed gold or matt black, these finishes ensure that everything from basin mixers to shelving works together seamlessly.
“By offering brassware and accessories in coordinated styles, we’re making it easier for customers to achieve a balanced, polished design, creating a bathroom that feels thoughtfully curated from start to finish.”
Ben also believes that displaying a variety of finishes and styles is essential for helping customers envision the full potential of their bathroom design. RAK Ceramics’ new tap display units play a key role in this. These displays, featuring up to 29 taps, allow retailers to showcase the breadth of the RAK Ceramics brassware portfolio at a glance.
It’s an effective way to highlight popular designs like the RAK-Amalfi basin mixer in matt black and the RAK-Ischia in brushed nickel, alongside timeless options such as the RAK-Washington tap in chrome.
These units not only make the most of available floor space, but they also give customers the chance to see, touch, and experience the quality and finishes in person. By bringing the variety of styles to life, retailers can inspire customers and help them make informed, confident decisions, boosting sales in the process. I ask Ben if he has been surprised by customer demands this year. “We’ve definitely noticed a growing demand for bolder, more personalised design choices. Many customers are moving away from the standard chrome finishes and opting for statement colours like brushed gold or matt black. The desire for these unique finishes has been a pleasant surprise, showing that people are more willing to experiment with their spaces. “Looking ahead to 2025, we’ll continue to innovate within the brassware and bathroom accessories space, expanding on the success of our coloured ranges. We’re excited to explore new design possibilities, always with an eye on blending style with functionality. It’s all about offering products that not only look beautiful but are built to last.”
