BRASSWARE & ACCESSORIES
Innovative Brassware at the Forefront of Bathroom Design
S
ince 2020, two macro trends have remained prominent across all
interiors: sustainability and hygiene. Brassware is certainly no exception. Ultimately, these are standard commitments that need to sit alongside the other commitments of design, quality, performance and price. The challenge for us as a brassware manufacturer, is delivering on all of these fronts. Sustainability wise, one obvious focus is water

saving, with 5 litres per minute now a commonly achievable target for basin mixers, using clever aerators to maintain performance across different water pressures. This is often a bigger challenge with showering, where customer perception leaves luxury and water saving at odds. Outside of specifying shower heads that best balance water usage with experience (or water reuse – another challenging topic), there are smart features in digital showering which facilitate easy pause functions, as well as highlighting usage data to encourage responsible use. From a CO2
perspective, simple features such as basin mixers that start with a cold flow, avoiding unintentional mixing of hot water can make a significant difference, as well as reducing utility costs; all in addition to responsible manufacturing, logistics and packaging. The colour trend remains strong across all
bathroom product categories, though none more so than brassware, where PVD is the gold standard. Product lifecycle is an often overlooked variable, both in terms of environment and customer cost, and the superb resilience of PVD makes it perfectly suited to accommodate this. It facilitates a variety of finishes in polished and brushed tones that achieve natural looking metallics, less limited by ephemeral trends, and is also a non-chemical process. For those spaces that require extra caution in terms of hygiene, touchless products continue to evolve into softer designs, with aesthetics and functionalities better suited to the domestic environment than we’ve previously seen.

oca’s sophisticated Everlux finish is obtained by an innovative physical
vapor deposition (PVD) process, via the ionization of metals and noble gases, which are combined to create a fine metallic coating. This coating, based on extremely hard metals such as titanium or zirconium, is uniformly deposited over Roca’s high-quality galvanized chrome plating, resulting in a surface with extreme hardness and extraordinary resistance to scratches, impacts and cleaning agents. Through this process,
Roca is able to offer multiple combinations in the creation of sophisticated and highly resistant bathroom spaces. Everlux is available across several collections,
covering everything from basin mixers to showering. The Insignia and Naia collections both also feature Roca’s Cold Start technology, to ensure the flow starts with cold water and hot water systems are only activated when the handle is turned to the left. This not only saves CO2, but also reduces consumers’ energy bills. Naia has a minimalist design, with a perfect combination of
cylindrical and square geometric shapes to complement a variety of bathroom decors. With its soft profile and slim side handle, Insignia features gently curved lines and a sleek, elegant aesthetic, ideal for bathrooms with a clear urban design.
