Building successful partnerships to strengthen the industry

The phrase ‘no man is an island’ is quite apt when you think about the process of designing and installing kitchens and bathrooms. For Virtual Worlds, there is so much more involved in delivering a successful outcome than just writing code. If I am asked what the main focus of Virtual Worlds is, my answer is simple: Our objective is to help retailers sell more products at a higher margin. To do this, we provide innovative technology so our clients can give the best customer experience. Ultimately, that experience persuades the consumer that the purchase is perfect for them. Building partnerships with manufacturers and retailers to deliver the very best buying

experience is so important to us, because we don’t just want to keep retail alive, we want it to thrive today and long into the future, whatever the future brings.

Comment by Nathan Maclean, Managing Director, Virtual Worlds Post Pandemic Challenges

The number of challenges the manufacturing industry faces following the pandemic is alarming. With costs across the board continuing to escalate and pressures both internally and externally, it is ultimately pushing manufacturers into a difficult position. Across the industry we have seen building and liability insurance costs as well

as fixed term gas and electricity prices increase. The transport industry challenges, including the driver shortages and fuel shortages also continue to affect our industry with increased costs and pressures. To ensure

companies manage the challenges and pressures as best as possible, it is important we build strong relationships with our suppliers and have open communication with customers and employees. With no end in sight to the challenges we are facing, working together across the industry is the best chance we have of weathering the storm.

Striving for sustainability

The recent COP26 summit will undoubtedly add focus and impetus to the efforts of many an industry and not least the KBB industry in its quest to become greener. Nowadays the public quite rightly expects to inspect the

environmental credentials of companies they intend to buy from, particularly manufacturing companies. And it’s not just a case of sourcing raw materials responsibly, our responsibility stretches from designing and engineering products that are made to last longer right through to finding practical, sustainable solutions for the waste materials that the manufacturing process generates. Packaging is a great

example of where new initiatives abound. As well as ensuring that packaging waste is recoverable and recyclable, we can all focus on new and ingenious ways to lessen packaging and its effect on the environment whilst ensuring it is fit for purpose, protecting the product accordingly. Challenging but possible. Sustainability must become an integral part of the way we

operate, it’s a dynamic ongoing process and there will always be room for advancement.
