RAK Ceramics wins Wall and Floor Tile of the Year Awards
Ras Al Khaimah, UAE, XX May 2017 – RAK Ceramics PJSC, one of the largest ceramics’ brands in the world, today announced that it has
won two awards at The Tiles Association Awards (TTA) in London, United Kingdom. The company received the prestigious ‘Wall Tile of the Year’ award for
its Country Brick range, and ‘Floor Tile of the Year’ award for its Circle Wood range.

The Tile Association Awards celebrate the success within the tiling industry and honour the top companies that demonstrate excellence and achievement. Winners for the 2017 awards were chosen through a combination of public voting and industry expert critique.
Barwick appoint new Sales Director Steve Hooley
Leading independent bathroom distributor Barwick is pleased to announce the appointment of Steve Hooley to the role of Sales Director. Steve, formally of Ideal Bathrooms took up his post in April and brings with him 27 years’ experience from within the bathroom industry. He will play a key role in driving the company’s growth plans as well as building on Barwick’s outstanding reputation for customer service to bathroom retailers. “It’s an honour to represent Barwick and to head up such a well-respected sales team,” said Steve. “We have a great team and a service led business model at Barwick that I’ve always admired, so I’m looking forward to becoming a part of this as well as building on the existing sales team’s strengths’’. TTA Awards night – Another great success for the industry! T
he TTA Awards 2017 once again provided a great showcase for the tiling industry. This year the Awards, hosted by Emma Jesson, took place at the Radisson Blu Portman Hotel in central London. The winners of 22 categories were declared during the course of the evening – six of these being determined by public vote, the rest being adjudicated by the TTA’s panel of expert judges.
“I think this eleventh TTA Awards has been our most successful ever,” says TTA chairman Ian Kershaw. “It’s always great to recognise the real achievers in our industry, whether they are tile fixers, manufacturer, retailers, distributors or contractors. It shows the real strength of our industry that we are able to demonstrate such a wealth of talent, enterprise, hard work and creativity from within our member companies.
‘I would like to thank all those who entered the Awards this year, all those who came along to the event itself, our judges who gave freely of their expertise to make the Awards possible, those who voted in the public voting categories and this year’s Gold sponsors, who made it all possible financially.”
The winners in the Bathrooms and Kitchens categories were: • Winner - Best Use of Tile in a Domestic Environment (Bathrooms & Wetrooms) – Casa Ceramica: Storton Bathroom.
• Joint Winners - Best Use of Tile in a Domestic Environment (Kitchens) – Armatile: Private House and Creative Tile & Stone: Private House.
The Gold sponsors of the Awards were: ARDEX, BAL, Bellota, Impey Showers, Norcros Adhesives and Tilemaster Adhesives. The event was also once again a great networking occasion and an opportunity for the industry to get together and enjoy top class entertainment. The evening also raised £2,500 for Children Today, the TTA’s nominated charity, for whom the industry has been raising money for the past 11 years.
