Probox are known for the quality of their dovetail joints. They are created by combining industrial fully computerised precision dovetail machines and a hand gluing and finishing process.
Each dovetail size is precisely calculated by the dovetail machine, by entering the size of the drawer box and the type of dovetail required. Most dovetail machines produce dovetails of a standard pitch, most frequently 25mm, however the state-of-the-art dovetail machines that Probox use are CNC controlled providing variable pitch dovetails that allows total freedom for the drawer heights.
Another advantage of the production process at Probox is the ability to produce “traditional” dovetails with pins wider than the sockets, this is favoured by cabinet makers because it makes the dovetail joints more hand crafted in appearance. Dovetail drawers are shown as a sign of superior build quality and craftsmanship in a kitchen or bespoke furniture. By its very nature, a dovetailed
drawer is inherently strong, because when in use the stress on the joints is attempting to pull the drawer apart in the direction where the joint is strongest. In fact, a properly made dovetailed drawer is usually impossible to disassemble without considerable damage.
After manufacture all drawer boxes are packaged to a high standard, ensuring these immaculate drawers arrive in excellent condition, on time, every time.
New Engraving Service at Probox Probox have installed a CNC machine which allows clients to have engraved artwork on their drawer boxes. The computerised CNC engraving machine offers precision positioning of engraved artwork, allowing large batches of drawer boxes to be produced with complete uniformity. Each dovetail drawer box can be engraved with the kitchen manufactures logo, this popular service allows customers to add their brand to a kitchen in a low discreet place. Other options could be engraving drawers to personalise them for the customer, for instance labelling a drawer with what’s inside i.e. cutlery, or for bedroom furniture socks etc.
The depth of the engraving can be varied within a design as desired. A popular finish is the main logo with a deeper engrave and smaller additional text with a finer effect.
