Lecico Bathrooms Kate Hirst “ 2

023 was another record year for Lecico Bathrooms, which is

exceptional given the challenging market conditions,” explains Kate. “The highlight undoubtedly was the successful launch of our two new ranges of Design Series sanitaryware and furniture, Layla and Zara. We launched the ranges at our event ‘The Future of Sustainable Bathrooms’ in County Hall, London, showcasing our dedication to sustainable practices, and marking a significant milestone in our commitment to innovation and design excellence.” I ask Kate what she thinks a company needs to do to succeed in this sector. “Success in this sector hinges on a blend of cutting-edge design, sustainable practices, and customer-centricity. We have come a long way in terms of product design, and the product road map for 2024 and beyond will start to push the boundaries of creativity and innovation in sustainable design.”

Matt Broughton spoke to Lecico Bathrooms’ Commercial Director, Kate Hirst as she reflected on 2023 and looked forward to more growth in 2024.

The company’s current focus is on its Design Series ranges and in 2024 Lecico will extend its range offering to deliver more design combination options. “We are also focussed on the development of sustainable products which includes recycled materials, water-efficient products, and new innovations to improve the environmental impact of bathrooms in the wider

built environment. We have lots of exciting news to bring to market in 2024.”

I ask Kate what changes in trends and customer requirements she has witnessed over the last

year. “We’ve noticed a number of shifts in trends and customer demands. The challenging market has increasingly driven purchasers of bathrooms to search for better value, without compromising design. This has suited Lecico Bathrooms very well as we have long been recognised as offering ‘best value’ in the bathrooms market. Additionally, the demand for water-efficient products including low flush toilets has also grown significantly, reflecting a heightened environmental consciousness and a preference for water saving solutions. Additionally, the emerging trend of “design to combine” underscores a desire for products that not only serve their individual purposes effectively but also enable creative and flexible combinations, empowering customers to tailor their spaces according to personal preferences and needs.”

Looking ahead to 2024, Lecico aims to expand its sustainable initiatives, working towards reducing our environmental footprint while helping others to do the same. This includes exploring new materials, optimising warehouse processes, and enhancing energy efficiency. “We also aspire to continue pushing the boundaries of design and functionality with the introduction of new product ranges to ensure that our brand remains synonymous with best value, innovation and quality. 2023 has been an excellent year for Lecico Bathrooms and we’re excited to continue our incredible growth story in 2024.”
