INDUSTRY UPDATE BRITISH FURNITURE ASSOCIATION

BFA – Innovation takes centre stage at the Furniture Component Expo

THE IPG Supporting Independents

The IPG Launches Festive ‘Elf and Safety’ Christmas Charity Campaign

brand-new Innovation Trail will showcase cutting-edge design and manufacture at the 2026 Furniture Component Expo (FCE).

The event, hosted by the British Furniture Association (BFA) has expanded its reach by incorporating suppliers of fixtures, fittings and components for the kitchens and bathrooms sector. And with the Innovation Trail offering a specially curated collection of cutting-edge products that haven’t been seen at the FCE before, there’s a double incentive for the kitchen and bathroom sector to get involved. Already 10 per cent of FCE exhibitors have signed up to the initiative, which will be marked out by floor stickers and highlighted in the official show floorplan and guide, allowing delegates to seek out the newest products on the market.

BFA MD Phil Spademan said: “As we head to the third FCE, the show goes from strength to strength and the event’s profile increasingly makes it of interest to those in the kitchen and bathroom sectors, looking to reach new audiences.

“The most exciting new products will be showcased as part of the new Innovation Trail, which has been carefully curated to demonstrate real innovation that meets industry needs. “With a packed seminar programme, a wide range of products to discover and excellent opportunities to network, FCE2026 continues to build an excellent reputation among buyers and suppliers in the furniture industry.”

FCE has seen a spike in early demand from exhibitors, with 80 per cent of floorspace now allocated, a 20% increase compared to the same time last year.

Sponsors BeA Group and Carpenter have renewed for 2026 and Furniture & Joinery Production will also return as the expo’s official media partner, sponsoring the seminar theatre and drinks reception. FCE takes place at Telford International Centre on March 11 and 12 fcexpo.co.uk.

BKU DECEMBER 2025 37

his December, The IPG is sprinkling some festive mischief across member stores with the launch of its playful Elf and Safety Christmas charity campaign. Running from the 8th to 22nd December, the initiative brings together some light-hearted in-store entertainment and a meaningful fundraising drive in support of the Royal Voluntary Service. Taking centre stage is “Mark the Elf,” brought to life by our brand ambassador Mark Millar, who will be popping up across The IPG community to deliver a mix of mischief, mayhem and festive magic. Whether he’s lending a helping hand, causing a little harmless chaos or simply spreading Christmas cheer, Mark’s antics will be caught on camera to create engaging, shareable social content that brings a smile to everyone throughout the network.
