BiKBBI – The Future of Installation: Why AiM?
n the ever-evolving landscape of the home improvement and construction industry, staying ahead of the curve is not just an advantage, it’s a necessity. The newly launched AiM (Accredited Installation Methods) initiative is set to revolutionise the way we approach installation standards, and as the CEO of BiKBBI, I cannot stress enough the importance of this accreditation for businesses. For almost 20 years, we have built a robust
I
mechanism, via registration, for installation businesses to set themselves apart and develop their service. Although over this period, whilst working with retailers and manufacturers in a number of ways, we haven’t had a tool in which we can assess and support the specific needs from those businesses that work with installers to deliver an installed proposition. AiM changes that… and that’s not only great news for those participating businesses, but for the wider industry too and indeed those installers who operate within the sector.
AiM covers a wide range of criteria, extending way beyond onsite standards. We’re looking specifically at how businesses (of all sizes) deliver their installed service – whether you’re an independent retail showroom, regional or national brand, manufacturer or merchant. Accreditation takes a deep dive into policies and procedures, with an express intention to develop and strengthen operational delivery of KBB product. It’s not there to criticise, but to work with and support businesses to strengthen their business.
Aside from the obvious benefits of accreditation to those businesses that achieve AiM status, we see the mark being used by installers – SME’s keen on working with retailers or manufacturers… Installers can be assured that those businesses who have achieved AiM are ‘installer friendly’. Something very useful in this age of labour shortages!
