TTA launches master tile fixer certification scheme
T
TA is making a bid to ‘raise tile and tiling standards and enhance installation expertise and craftsmanship’ with its new Master Tile Fixer Certification Scheme, which it is now launching. It aims to certify highly experienced and skilled independent tile fixers, promoting best practice and encouraging existing tiling professionals to strive for excellence.
In addition to all the normal benefits of TTA membership, tilers who are enrolled into the Master Tile Fixer Certification Scheme will also enjoy enhanced promotion on TTA website, with their listing showing at the top of the directory search pages. They will also receive a ‘TTA Master Tile Fixer’ van sticker and be able to use TTA Master Tile Fixer logo on their own stationery, vehicles and marketing materials, demonstrating to their customers that they have attained the highest possible category of membership for independent tilers. TTA will also produce and distribute a press release as each Master Tile Fixer is enrolled. These benefits will certainly create extra kudos for your business!
TTA welcomes applications from existing members who meet the criteria. To be eligible, the member must be an independent tiler with a minimum of ten years’ tiling experience – and their work must be predominantly as a tiler. Enrolment comprises an online test, consisting of questions of an advanced nature to ensure the prospective Master Tile Fixer is at a specialist, superior skill level. The application will be audited by a member of TTA Training Committee and customer references will be required.
Once granted, certification will be reviewed annually and will include a three-yearly refresher course based around 20 technical and training questions to ensure Master Tile Fixers are aware of any new standards and regulations.
The new Master Tiler Certification Scheme fits within the three Pillars on which TTA's work is based going forward, supported by a specific programme of activity, set out in a roadmap covering the next four years. The Pillar 1 objective is supported by work to continue setting standards for tiles and related products, while driving training and learning for all and developing the Master Tile Fixer certification.
