evolving in a very exciting way. What is evident as the year progresses is that we are at the very cutting edge of a kitchen design “renaissance”. Mereway has always, and will continue to be, a totally British brand – this is from the inception of our unique designs through to the manufacturing and final hand-finishing process. ground-breaking, with gorgeous unexpected paint-parings, true love of brooding moody blue hues, larders on show, innovative storage, handleless designs, experimenting with texture, two-tone finishes, etc etc. Islands are an enduring feature of the modern kitchen and certainly are not losing appeal, in fact they are now more popular than ever with stand-out colours and materials. 020 is certainly a year of surprises! Kitchen design is breaking rules and
and investment, and not one that consumers want to repeat too often. Therefore timeless, classic yet contemporary designs in colours and finishes which are not merely fads or short-lived fashion statements make sense. So too does choosing exceptional, quality craftsmanship, which takes me back to buying British. It is important to appreciate the attention to detail, quality finish and the craftsmanship which is synonymous with the British manufacturing process and what that means to both the retailer and consumer. Perhaps this year has taught us that while everything else around us is transient the home and what it represents in terms of security and comfort is a constant. Arguably the kitchen, as the heart of the home, is therefore worth the investment of money, time and resource. We have learnt much from our European
neighbours over the last few decades and it is now British brands which are leading the way. This means that consumers can enjoy the best of quality craftmanship and leading-edge style and originality, all from the heart of the UK.
