INDUSTRY UPDATE

All the fun at Trojan’s Summer Celebration

H

uddersfield-based bath manufacturer, Trojan, hosted their first ever Summer Celebration on Friday 12th July

for all employees and their families, along with long-standing suppliers. Held at Huddersfield YMCA rugby club, in Salendine Nook, Huddersfield, the venue was chosen because of the links between Trojan founder Maurice Mosley and the club, who he played for, for most of his rugby career and has remained an active member ever since. The Summer Celebration was

a way in which to celebrate founder Maurice’s upcoming 90th birthday as well as his recent Lifetime Achievement Award at the industry BKU Awards but to also say a big thank you to all staff, as the business continues to grow even in difficult trading conditions. As Trojan manufacture over 320,000 baths each year with varying shift patterns, it is hard to gather every employee together, so a big celebration on a Friday evening was agreed as the only way to celebrate in style!

Guests attending the Summer

Celebration were treated to a range of outdoor fairground rides, Hook a Duck, bouncy castles and slides as well as a fabulous Hog Roast and range of vegan-friendly food too! There was a live DJ and compere organising a range of games as a laugh-out-loud Sports Day took place throughout the evening; from the adult sack race

to the egg and spoon, everybody relived their childhoods, especially Maurice! At the end of the evening all

guests gathered to sing a very special Happy Birthday to Maurice, with each guest receiving a delicious Colin the Caterpillar cake to enjoy and every child receiving a goody bag too! Speaking during the event,

Trojan CNC Operator Tracy St Hilaire said, “While I’ve worked for Trojan for over 25 years, this is definitely the most fun event I’ve been to. It’s great to see everybody having fun with their families and the Sports Day games have been very competitive!” Trojan is still very much family-owned and current Managing Director

David Mosley loved that all employees could bring their families along too, “This is the first event that we have invited along all of our team and

their families. We really appreciate the hard work and dedication from our employees, but recognise that this is supported by their nearest and dearest at home too. I get to work with my Dad every single day, so thought it was a great idea to introduce a family celebration for all ages to have some fun.” While the weather could have been better, the Summer Celebration

was a great success and something Trojan have committed to continuing long into the future!
