Performance led, clever product innovations that go beyond ‘just’ being functional – this is wedi

E

stablished in 1983, wedi is well-known for its versatile 100% waterproof XPS

product range protecting the substrate against damp and mould in wet areas. Recently however, the brand is venturing more and more into surface design, providing clients with not only secure foundations but also durable and stylish, on- trend bathroom finishes. wedi first became ‘visible on the surface’ with the

introduction of its Top Line offering a modern, grout free alternative to traditional tiling. The wedi Fundo Top was introduced to the market in 2017 and has been developed further during the years to fit nearly all Fundo shower elements. In recent years, seamless large-format panel type and preformed design surfaces were added to the line – such as a one-piece bench surface or niche cladding - all of which are available in either a mineral or mineral- vinyl composite natural stone look and in colours Pure White, to match modern sanitaryware, Carbon Black, Sahara Beige, Concrete Grey and Stone Grey. These surfaces are simply bonded to corresponding wedi XPS elements with wedi 610 adhesive sealant. Coloured all the way through, there is no need for profiles as cutting them will not result in unsightly cut edges. What’s more, they are made entirely of recycled materials, non-slip and thanks to the antibacterial surface and grout-free design are low-maintenance and hygienic. 2023 marks wedi’s further advancement into

surface design. Three new ‘flake’ colours are added to the range of Top Wall elements and the Sanwell Top niche got an upgraded counterpart. The Sanwell Top LED niche with its factory integrated LED lighting, makes storage in the bathroom a real highlight. Thanks to the degree of prefabrication during manufacturing, milling, fastening, sealing and other preliminary work is eliminated. IP67 rating and simple, fast installation is guaranteed. Find more details on the right-hand page. The brand-new member of the Fundo family, the

Ligno Plus especially developed for moisture sensitive suspended timber floors is also available to order with a perfectly matched design surface. Opting for the Fundo Top surface instead of tiles provides further assurances for wet rooms on timber. Thanks to the low heat-conductivity of the material, the design surface is warm to touch and keeps surface condensation to the very minimum, further protecting against mould and bacteria build-up.

Constantly thriving to offer more to its clients, the

company is now taking its drain covers to the next level too. Inspired by the latest brassware trends, the brand is utilising a technology typically associated with the aerospace and automotive industries to upgrade its brushed stainless-steel drain covers. The high-quality PVD coating offers not only outstanding colour quality and brilliance, but also functional advantages such as enhanced wear resistance and protection from corrosion. Matched to common fittings of leading brassware manufacturers, the three new designs - Metallic Black, Metallic Gold and Metallic Rose Gold – are available to order from

April 2023 for both linear and point drainage. They add instant warmth and visual interest to any bathroom and are versatile enough to harmonise with both traditional and modern bathroom styles. A testament to how high design standards and

durability can be combined, the new product innovations from wedi hint at glamour and luxe, offering a timeless, cohesive look and longevity in bathroom design.
