HiB – A brief history on the heated pad - reflecting on the technology that changed bathroom mirrors forever
As HiB celebrates the unveiling of the Spring launch, featuring mirrors with heated pad technology, HiB Chairman Warren Ginsberg looks back at how the innovation began and took the industry by storm. “It’s almost half a
century since the idea for a bathroom mirror with a heated pad came about,” says Warren, “It’s a feature that’s now become synonymous with mirrors and cabinets worldwide. But it all started with a chance introduction with heating expert David Perl. Over time, David and I worked together developing the technology for the bathroom industry. “It was just five years after the launch of HiB, that a mirror fitted with a
heated pad was introduced to the market. It was perfect for reducing condensation on the mirror’s surface and now they’re sold with almost every illuminated mirror manufactured. At HiB it is one of our most popular features. But it’s funny to think that this now industry-standard technology all came from a chance encounter.” To see full article visit BKU online.
