Aqualisa welcome to the Smart Bathroom W

ith digital smart technology now built into many areas of the home such as energy meters, televisions, heating, lighting, and security systems, we are now seeing the emergence of smart tech in the bathroom, where smart showering brings multiple benefits. British brand Aqualisa has pioneered this technology, and their latest generation of Quartz Smart Showers combines personalised showering with a range of advantages that enhance the shower experience.

The shower can be started remotely using Alexa or Google Assistant, or by using the remote control. The LED display indicates when the shower is ready – so no more reaching into the shower cubicle to test the water! The intelligence behind the system is the Aqualisa SmartValve™. This box can be installed remotely (up to 10 metres away from the shower) and checks and regulates the temperature of the water 10 times every second for absolute precision, so there are no cold bursts.

Aqualisa’s new app makes it easy to define shower profiles for each member of the household, or for different occasions. Want an icy blast shower following a workout? Or an intense, steaming shower for cold mornings, or a warm and gentle shower for a child? The Quartz smart showers ensure you get the shower you want, every time. There is also a bath fill option, so even a bathtub can be filled to your preferred temperature and level.

As we become more concerned about the environmental impact of modern life, and the cost of household energy bills remains high, we look to technology to help. The Aqualisa app can monitor shower duration, water usage and cost. You can even fix the maximum duration of the shower, helping to limit the amount of water in advance.

Jessica Clarke, Aqualisa’s Head of Marketing is evangelical about the technology. ‘With more than 30 million smart meters installed in the UK and nearly half of all adults under 65 owning a Google or Amazon Alexa smart speaker, the understanding of smart technology and the benefits it brings to our lives is increasing rapidly. The latest generation of connected bathroom solutions can enhance not only showering performance, but also wellbeing and sustainability.’

The Aqualisa Quartz range is available in three models, plus a Smart Retrofit solution designed for easy installation with minimum disruption to the bathroom. Like smart phones, the point will come when smart showering is the default choice in the bathroom. Is 2024 the year of the smart shower?
