adiators and towel rails are quickly becoming a central part of every bathroom design. Gone are the days when radiators were seen as mere functional devices to keep rooms warm. Modern radiators are now designed to be seen, not just felt.
Whilst the basic pressed steel panel remains the mainstay low-cost radiator, decorative radiators have evolved and are becoming an interior design component as well as providing high performance with the latest heating systems using renewable energy sources.
With most radiators and towel rails only available in a standard white finish or chrome, decorative radiators are different – and can be finished in almost any colour to complement a room design. These once functional products have developed to become a central accessory that brings a colour scheme or stylistic theme together. Colour matched finishes, with over 2,000 colour coating options for steel radiators balance
the design of a room flawlessly and create a consistent look. New Physical Vapor Deposition (PVD) coatings, also known as thin-film coatings, take finishes one step further and have exploded onto the towel rail scene to offer more metallic tones too.
But while choosing a centrepiece radiator or towel rail and matching colours and finishes with taps, showers and other accessories, many forget about the humble radiator valve and how they can affect the final look and feel.
Standard radiator valves can be ugly or obtrusive – especially when fitted within a contemporary space. But now there is no need to settle for them as standard. The unassuming radiator valve is stepping-up in the design stakes to make a statement of its own.
While valves are a critical part of the heating system and should be chosen with care as to not affect performance, there is no need for them to clash and ruin the interior look. Zehnder has a range of discreet, well-designed valves that match
its decorative radiator and towel rail range. Like the Zehnder radiators, they are made from durable, quality materials allowing more precision manufacturing and consequently greater reliability and finer adjustment when installed. And now Zehnder valves can complement a bathroom colour scheme as effortlessly as the radiators themselves, by undergoing the same finishing techniques to create a fully seamless look – as with most elements of interior design, it is the small details that ultimately lead to the ideal end result.
Available in metallic PVD coatings including Brushed Black Chrome, Brushed Brass and Brushed Bronze as well as over fifty shades of colour from the Zehnder ‘World of Colours’ chart – from terracotta and anthracite to pastel green and blue night – the unsightly radiator valve is now a thing of the past.
The range of Zehnder valves includes thermostat heads, valve sets and fittings in all the colours of the Zehnder ‘World of Colours’ chart - which has been curated by colour trend experts with current and future housing trends in mind. Various valve sets are available with valve body and return screw connection and union nuts on the outlet side in the same finish as the valve body. Sets with 50-mm valve fittings are also available.
