Roland DG and BWT Alpine join forces to celebrate women in wrapping

R

oland DG has joined long- standing partner BWT Alpine F1 team in celebrating the talent of women in the vehicle wrapping industry with the second edition of its Wrap Academy. Hosted at BWT’s technical centre in Oxfordshire, the exclusive experience brought eight of Europe’s female car wrappers together, alongside renowned vehicle wrapper and trailblazer in automotive customisation, Morgane Quetier, for a unique wrap challenge. The day featured inspiring talks, a behind-the-scenes tour of the BWT Alpine Formula One Team, and a dynamic wrap challenge where participants

Megan Cadogan, founder of Miss Wrapz, was crowned the champion, and will join the BWT Alpine Formula One Team wrap crew in Las Vegas later this year.

Ms Quetier said: “When I started out in car wrapping, there weren’t many females doing it, and even fewer who were visible. So, events like this matter. “The Wrap Academy is not just about technique; it’s about representation. When young women see someone like them working in this space, succeeding, leading, it makes a huge difference. It tells them: you belong here too. This

event is about sharing that message, offering support, and building a community of women who lift each other up.” Attendees spoke about their experiences in the industry, with women representing just 25% of global automotive roles. However, the rapid expansion of the market is seen as a significant opportunity to bring more women into the industry.

All the winners from this year’s Rising Star Awards

Printing Charity CEO, Neil Lovell, explained: “As is the case every year, we are celebrating the achievements and future potential of the sector’s outstanding younger talent. “What’s really encouraging, this year, is the increase in the range of courses we’re funding. These courses will drive our winners forward in their chosen careers underlining how the industry is arguably unmatched as a place for

young people to build a fulfilling career in almost any discipline.

“It also highlights the evolution of what it means to work in print. This evolution will be driven by this year’s winners, by those who have won the Rising Stars before them, and by those who will win an award after them.

“It’s fair to say, with talent like this within print and the allied trades, the future’s bright.”
