Wrapfest 2024 details announced

WrapFest, Fespa’s dedicated show for the vehicle and surface decoration community, will return to the Silverstone Race Circuit on 3-4 October this year, as the market booms. Straits Research reports the market for automotive wrap films is set to reach a value of over $25bn by 2030, with Europe a key region for the industry. Again, experts from the worlds of design, materials innovation and installation will collaborate with WrapFest in developing an agenda and activities across the two day event. Building on the inaugural show last year, WrapFest 2024 will place a heightened focus on education and training, and has partnered with The Wrap Institute as its official learning partner to deliver workshops, seminars, and hands-on demonstrations. Key highlights of the programme include:

• 50+ Live Demonstrations - an opportunity to get hands-on with the latest materials and tools, while learning productivity hacks from our

learning partners such as The Wrap Institute

• WWM UK - the UK leg of the global wrap competition, the winner of which will qualify to compete in the WWM Series final in Berlin

• Wrap Warrior - an opportunity for everyone to test their nerve and skills in this quick-fire format.

• Wrap Talks - a two-day programme of talks offering attendees insights into the latest industry trends

• Simulator Racing - who’ll be the fastest wrapper round a virtual track of Silverstone, with prizes to be won

• Wrap Party - an opportunity to network Meanwhile, it has been confirmed that Fespa Global 2025 will run in Berlin on 6-9 May. The figures for this year’s exhibition and sister events - held in Amsterdam over four days in May - show that 12,706 unique visitors attended, with 45% attending for more than a day.

CIM Signs and Graphics doubles in size

Norfolk-based PSP CIM Signs and Graphics has doubled the size of its operation after investing over £1m in workspace expansion and in equipment, including a Kongsberg C64 Edge. The company has spent the last 18 months adding to its premises and installing new kit, including swissQprint Nyala 4 last year following a £54,200 grant from the LEP’s Growing Business Fund. The new Kongsberg cutter was installed earlier this year and

SDUK/P+P Live! 2025 dates confirmed

SDUK and Printwear and Promotion Live! will return to the NEC on 23-25 February 2025, with SDUK moving to Hall 19 and its sister show to Hall 20. The confirmation comes on the heels of the first co-located events, which saw an increase of over 2,000 visitors to SDUK over the 2023 iteration, with more than 5,500 visitors across the three days. Attendance across the two shows topped 8,000. The first-ever Sunday opening for SDUK saw 2,000 visitors, with many coming across from P+P

. Event director Tony Gardner said: “The show had

struggled to recover since Covid, so we knew that this year’s Sign and Digital UK - the 35th but first under Datateam’s ownership - was the start of the rebuild. The show undoubtedly needed re-energising, and the new format made it feel like a re-launch. The success of the co-location has surpassed our expectations and given us a solid foundation to build upon for 2025, and to re-establish the show as a central part of the calendar and an economic stimulus for the industry.”

is being used for a wide range of printing projects including creative 3D corrugated cardboard designs, packaging, displays, signage, labels and decals. Managing director Mark Baker, said: “We’ve been planning this expansion for quite some time now and we’re thrilled to have officially moved in to our new space, which has allowed us to reconfigure the whole building providing us with spaces for key areas such as van wrapping and wide-format printing.”

Nutec Digital Ink invests in renewable energy

Wide-format digital printing inks manufacturer Nutec Digital Ink has taken a major stride in its sustainability journey with the installation of a solar energy system at its production facility in Cape Town, South Africa. The new photovoltaic system features a 266kWp solar plant coupled to a 516kWh battery and will generate 400MWh of clean energy annually, meeting more than half of the factory’s power demand per year. Additionally, the solar installation will eliminate diesel consumption currently required during periods of electricity outages and grid instability. The combined impact of these reductions will cut carbon emissions by 600 tons annually.

“This multi-million rand investment will not only ensure operational reliability for our company but also marks a significant decrease in the factory’s carbon footprint,” said Nutec Digital Ink financial director Darren Crosse.
