Wireless controls have plug-and-play installation

AI assistant improves information access

Zilmet has updated how installers access technical support with the launch of Cal, an AI assistant integrated into its website. The tool provides instant, 24/7 access to product information, datasheets and sizing guidance – a shift away from traditional methods such as printed sizing wheels and apps. While installers can still

contact Zilmet engineers directly for support, Cal is designed to improve speed and convenience by removing the need for searches or waiting times. It delivers immediate answers based on

To give installers and customers greater flexibility, Baxi has launched a new range of wireless controls for its air source heat pumps, boilers and cylinders. The range includes the AmbiZen Smart Control, designed for rapid, cable-free installation and advanced user features via the My Baxi app, alongside simple single- and twin-channel wireless controls for quick, straightforward fitting. All controls feature plug-and-play installation, allowing thermostats

to be fitted in minutes, helping reduce time on site and callbacks. Customers can choose between smart app-based control or more conventional wireless options to suit different heating systems. Using the My Baxi app, the AmbiZen Smart Control offers seven-

day scheduling, holiday mode and real-time energy monitoring. It also adjusts flow temperatures automatically using weather data to improve efficiency and comfort. Voice assistant compatibility with Google Assistant and Amazon Alexa provides hands-free operation. To support installation and commissioning, Baxi also supplies QR

code links to how-to video guides. ◼ phamnews.co.uk/626/47

The system is continually

improving, learning how installers phrase questions in different ways. Users are encouraged to interact with Cal in their own terms, helping refine its accuracy and usability over time. Stuart Gizzi, MD of Zilmet, says:

Higher capacity air source heat pump range

Mitsubishi Heavy Industries Air-Conditioning Europe has expanded its Hydrolution EZY R290 monobloc air-to-water heat pump range with new 10 and 14kW models for larger homes and small commercial applications. The units provide heating, cooling and domestic hot water using a monobloc design, with all refrigerant contained in the outdoor unit. This removes the need for refrigerant pipework, simplifying installation and reducing commissioning time. Using R290 refrigerant, the new models can deliver

flow temperatures up to 75°C and operate in ambient temperatures from -25°C to +43°C. Features include built-in refrigerant leak detection and low-noise

Bathroom furniture is in the groove

Groove is the name of a new bathroom furniture collection from Vado comprising vanities, mineral basins and illuminated mirrors. Designed and engineered in the UK, the range combines real wood veneer, mineral surfaces and integrated lighting elements within a coordinated system. The Groove wall-hung vanity

units are offered in 600mm and 800mm widths, and they are constructed using real wood veneer and finished in either classic oak or classic walnut. The design features a slatted front with a handleless profile and soft-close drawers.

The basin range is made

from mineral material with a smooth white finish and defined geometric edges. They are pre- drilled on the underside and can be used with wall-mounted or deck-mounted mixers, with additional flexibility for installation adjustments. To complete the set, Groove

illuminated mirrors are available in round and rectangular formats, again in 600mm and 800mm dimensions. They incorporate front and back lighting, touch controls, a demister function and adjustable colour temperature. ◼ phamnews.co.uk/626/50

Installation kits and videos make it easy

“The information has always been there – on the website, in the datasheets, on the end of the phone. Cal doesn’t change what we know, it changes how quickly and easily installers can get to it. We’d encourage installers to give it a proper workout.” ◼ phamnews.co.uk/626/48

Sized for

replacement projects

The expanded Compact radiator range from Stelrad now includes a new 500mm high series. The addition brings 26 new models to the range, including 13 K1 models and 13 K2 models. Sizes extend from 400 x 500mm through to 2,000 x 500mm, with heat outputs ranging from 1,137 Btu/hr to 10,195 Btu/hr. The new height option has

been introduced in response to requests from merchants and installers seeking greater

Showerwall has introduced installation kits supplied as standard for its Acrylic wall panel range. The kits are now included with each Acrylic panel to support installers during fitting and finishing. Each kit contains alcohol wipes for surface preparation, sealant for

panel bonding and edge sealing, and double-sided fixing pads designed to hold panels in position while the sealant cures. This can help to improve installation consistency, reduce fitting errors and ensure the panels perform as intended. The update is accompanied by revised installation guidance and a new

instructional fitting video covering recommended installation methods and techniques, available through the company’s website. The installation support changes coincide with the introduction of 14

flexibility for like-for-like radiator replacement work. The dimensions support refurbishment and contract-led projects, including

social housing schemes where specific sizing requirements are often specified. ◼ phamnews.co.uk/626/51

new decors within the Acrylic Collection. The additions include designs influenced by floral patterns, coastal themes, stone finishes and heritage- style detailing. Four of the new decors are also available in a smooth matt finish, which the company describes as a first for the sector. ◼ phamnews.co.uk/626/52
