Trousers made for women

Launched as part of its industrial clothing range, Carhartt has introduced women’s Steel Pants. The product builds on the company’s existing men’s Steel Pants, which were launched last year, and has been redesigned specifically for women working in trade and construction environments. The trousers are made from stretch ripstop fabric to provide resistance to tears and abrasion while allowing flexibility for movement such as climbing, crouching and bending. High-wear areas are reinforced with Cordura material to improve durability under site conditions. The design also includes a gusseted crotch and a ComfortFlex waistband to support movement and maintain fit. The Steel Pants include multiple storage features such as reinforced front pockets, a ruler pocket, utility band and a zippered hanging pocket. The kneepad pockets are designed to meet EN 14404-4:2024

Fast pipe cutting and enhanced control with reciprocating saw

Designed for cutting large-diameter pipes and other challenging materials, the Makita JR003GZ 40VMax Reciprocating Saw XGT features a newly engineered chain vice that securely fixes the workpiece in place. This enhances stability and safety while improving cutting accuracy. The tool is powered by a 40VMax Li-ion battery. Delivering high cutting capacity and

durable performance, this reciprocating saw is built for heavy-duty applications. With a maximum cutting diameter of 220mm, an adjustable stroke rate to suit different materials and constant speed control, it is suitable for cutting wood, cast iron, and steel or iron pipes. The tool features a pipe clamp-style chain

dimensions and are compatible with Carhartt Interoperable Kneepads. These elements support practical use in trade settings while maintaining durability and functionality. ◼ phamnews.co.uk/626/10

vice with a built-in spring for fast, secure fixing. The chain can also be held temporarily in place while wrapped around the pipe, helping users achieve accurate parallel cuts for welded joints. For added versatility, the saw can also be used as a standard reciprocating saw with the supplied front grip attachment. Safety and comfort features include soft

start technology and low vibration levels to reduce operator fatigue, and a front grip and grip shaft for improved control. The saw also offers enhanced dust and water resistance for use in harsh environments.

Commenting on the launch, Makita’s Kevin

Prioritising convenience, safety, and efficiency for HVAC professionals, the M18 cordless recovery machine from Milwaukee has been designed to transfer refrigerant out of heat pump systems so that repairs can be made quickly and easily. The brushless recovery pump removes

the need to ask the customer for power, search for outlets or manage extension cords, thereby helping to streamline

service calls and maximise productivity. A self-purge feature removes refrigerant

residues and helps to protect the equipment and ensure efficient operation. The solution is equipped with a digital display for visibility in any environment, while a balanced carrying handle enables single-handed transport, making it easy to move the machine between service locations. ◼ phamnews.co.uk/626/12

across a range of materials, with capability of cutting soft wire up to 4mm, 3mm on medium-hard wire and 2mm on hard wire. It is manufactured from forged vanadium electric steel and has undergone an oil- hardening process to improve durability and service life. The cutting edges are additionally induction-

hardened to around 61 HRC, a treatment designed to help maintain sharpness and performance over extended use in professional environments where tools are frequently subjected to repeated load. A slim head profile improves access in confined

spaces, while three-component ergonomic handles are designed to improve grip and reduce hand strain. ◼ phamnews.co.uk/626/13
