PHAM NEWS | JUNE 2026 Merchant & Distributor News 11 One-stop-shop for Fujitsu air conditioning
Targeting commercial HVAC installers, Climate Centre says it is now able to offer the most extensive Fujitsu stock profile in the UK, alongside same-day collection across its network of more than 40 branches. The merchant has simplified the process of ordering
all the parts required for a Fujitsu installation through a series of online ordering lists. These include pre-built selections of indoor units, outdoor units, pipework and controls, making it easier to source everything needed for a complete install. Matt Davies, senior category manager at Climate
Centre, comments: “This partnership is about ensuring that installers who trust the Fujitsu brand have access to a reliable and knowledgeable distribution partner with true national coverage.” ◼

City Plumbing makes low price pledge
A new Lowest Price Guarantee has been launched by City Plumbing, following research that suggests installers could be losing almost £7,000 a year in potential chargeable time by shopping around for the best deal. As part of the guarantee, the national merchant
will review prices daily against leading UK retailers, giving both existing and new customers confidence that they are not overpaying. If a customer spots the same item cheaper with an eligible retailer, it can be flagged in branch or via customer services. It will then be reviewed and, where appropriate, matched or the difference
refunded. The guarantee covers a wide range of everyday electrical products, including cable management, switches and sockets, lighting, ventilation, electric heating, EV charging and consumer units. More than 100 products from City Plumbing’s exclusive Plumbright plastic plumbing range are also backed by the price promise. “By bringing in the Lowest Price Guarantee,
we’re helping trades keep more of their time, protect their margins and focus on the work that earns,” says CCO Hemal Morjaria. ◼

The latest market figures
Figures published by the BMF (Builders Merchants Federation) in the Plumbing and Heating Merchants Index (PHMI) offer the latest snapshot of trading performance across the sector, highlighting the impact of price and volume on overall sales value in the first quarter of the year. Comparing the first quarter’s performance with the previous year
shows total value sales in Q1 2026 were marginally lower at -0.1%, with no difference in trading days between the two periods. Drilling down into the details, however, reveals that volume sales fell by 4.3%, while prices increased by 4.4%. Comparing performance in Q1 2026 with the final quarter of 2025,
like-for-like value sales (adjusted to remove the impact of trading day differences) decreased by 0.5% against the previous quarter, with volume sales being 1.2% lower in the latest quarter. With one less trading day during the latest 12-month period, like-
for-like value sales were +1.7% higher compared to the previous 12 months. However, like-for-like volume sales were down by 2.7%, with prices 4.5% higher. The data for the PHMI is taken solely from P&H specialists, including City Plumbing Supplies, James Hargreaves Plumbing Depot, Plumbfix, PTS, Williams & Co, and Wolseley.
