Compact HIU for heating apartments with renewable energy
TACONOVA has launched the TacoTherm Fresh Nano2, a sustainable Heat Interface Unit (HIU) designed to facilitate the transition from gas- powered communal heating systems to modern, renewable energy-based central heating systems in apartments. This compact and modular HIU is
High temperature heat pump
New from MITSUBISHI ELECTRIC is a high temperature water-to-water heat pump which reduces the global warming potential (GWP) by 56% over the previous models. The EW-HT-G05 upgrades the EW-HT
range and uses non-flammable refrigerant R134a (GWP100 = 573 as per AR5), which has an ASHRAE A1 safety class. This enables customers to easily replace fossil fuel heating systems by building a complete cascade system that utilises the same refrigerant throughout. Available in four sizes to offer 73kW to
130kW, the units include two independent refrigerant circuits and a new plate heat exchanger to provide water temperatures up to 78°C. The dual circuits allow customers to separate their Low Temperature Hot Water (LTHW) circuit – used for space heating – from the hot water circuit used for domestic
hot water (DHW). The EW-HT is designed with a
compact footprint for indoor placement. Installation is straightforward, and the independent circuits mean it can operate in part load to improve efficiency during low-demand periods. Several options are also available such as touch screen display, refrigerant leak detection and Master-Client group controls. With a wide operating envelope, the
EW-HT can support a range of commercial applications by interfacing between the LTHW circuit and the DHW circuit. Units can also be harmonised with the INTEGRA range of Simultaneous Heating & Cooling equipment (4-pipe) for residential and commercial buildings, industrial process heat recovery (including IT cooling), and district heating systems. ▄

specifically designed to connect to renewable energy sources like heat pumps, solar, or district heating networks, offering a more energy- efficient and cost-effective solution for hot water and heating. Existing wall-mounted gas boilers installed in apartments can be quickly and easily replaced with the compact hydraulic unit. The modular station heats water on demand and regulates the hot water outlet temperature without auxiliary energy through a proportional flow controller. Additionally, TacoTherm Fresh Nano2 distributes heating water to the
radiators or underfloor heating. The unit’s compact design simplifies planning and installation, while its high degree of pre-fabrication saves time and reduces maintenance effort compared to traditional gas boilers. Its high transmission capacity allows for central supply from a heat pump or other renewable energy sources, reducing reliance on individual gas boilers and associated costs. ▄

Taking care of heat networks projects
With the aim of providing a single point of contact for customers involved in heat network projects, BAXI has launched a complete range of products and services, including the new AquaHeat heat interface units (HIUs). The twin-plate HIUs are available in two outputs and can deliver indirect space heating and hot water for new and existing properties. An indirect heat-only model is also available for use in commercial premises. At the heart of the

company’s heat network proposition is Baxi Packaged Solutions. The business excels in designing and manufacturing pre- packaged plant rooms for centralised energy centres, as well as prefabricated utility cupboards for use in individual dwellings. The heat network
service is further enhanced by the UK launch of Mercurius Connected – a digital
innovation developed and already available in Europe – that will be able to remotely monitor, troubleshoot and optimise the HIUs. Baxi is also drawing on expertise and experience from its parent company BDR Thermea, which recently acquired heat network specialist Fortes Energy Systems, a specialist in manufacturing and supplying HIUs and thermal substations. ▄

for commercial applications The Vitocrossal 200 CI3 from VIESSMANN is a new range of high-efficiency, low-emission commercial gas condensing boilers designed for apartment buildings, commercial enterprises, and local authorities. This compact boiler, with output sizes
from 80-640kW, offers a 55% smaller footprint compared to previous models, making it ideal for modernisation projects or spaces with limited floor area. The Vitocrossal 200 CI3 features a MatriX cylinder burner with a stainless steel heat exchanger and an automatic combustion controller, ensuring efficient and high-quality combustion throughout its lifespan.
Condensing boiler heating solution The boiler boasts a seasonal efficiency
of up to 94.8% and NOx emissions below 27mg per kWh. It also has a large modulation range of 1:10 for greater efficiency at partial load and two return conn ections for low- and high- temperature circuits. The Vitocrossal 200 CI3 is designed
for ease of installation and management, with integrated wheels, a transport pallet, and a simplified electrical-connections terminal. It is also compatible with Viessmann’s One Base climate- and energy-management platform, allowing for remote monitoring and control through the ViCare app for end-users and the ViGuide app for installers. ▄
