SETTING CHANNEL DIRECTION

Mark Davitt, Channel Director of HP UK and Ireland, speaks to PCR about

strengthening partner engagement, evolving channel strategy and how HP plans to support resellers through its next phase of growth.

W

hat are your immediate priorities for HP’s UK and Ireland channel? My immediate priority is to reinforce

HP’s position as a trusted partner to the UK and Ireland channel. Tat means listening carefully to our partners,

responding to their priorities and ensuring our global capabilities are delivered with strong local insight and accountability. Te UK and Irish markets each have distinct dynamics, and it is important that our approach reflects the needs of the partners and customers operating within them. Te channel has always been fundamental to

HP’s success. My focus is on deepening those relationships and ensuring our programmes, expertise and developments enable partners to create measurable value for their customers.

Where do you see the strongest opportunities for partner growth over the next 12 to 18 months? Te strongest opportunities will come from helping customers translate technology investment into clear business value. AI PCs will form an important part of that growth, but the

opportunity extends well beyond the device itself. Customers will need support identifying relevant use cases, preparing their data, strengthening security and ensuring their people have the skills and confidence to adopt AI responsibly.

14 | September/October 2026 Print will remain an important area of

opportunity, particularly as customers look to modernise their print environments, improve security and connect print more effectively with digital workflows. We also see considerable potential in services, device lifecycle management, and digital employee experience. Partners that can combine hardware, soſtware, security, support, and sustainability into a coherent proposition will be well positioned to develop deeper, more strategic customer relationships.

How is HP helping partners navigate slower refresh cycles and continued pressure on customer budgets?

Te priority is to help customers make informed and commercially sound decisions about their technology estates. Partners can play an important advisory role by identifying

where ageing devices may present performance or security risks, where new capabilities could deliver a tangible return, and where existing equipment can continue to serve the organisation effectively. Tis creates opportunities across assessment, deployment,

support, lifecycle services, refurbishment and recycling. It also allows partners to move the discussion beyond initial purchase price and towards productivity, resilience, security and total cost of ownership.
