IN MY TEAM
G2 ESPORTS
G2 Esports has announced its new senior leadership team. The three executive members have been selected by the board of directors to lead the G2 organisation.
A
lban Dechelotte has been promoted to chief executive after holding an executive position at the organisation for the last two years. With his distinctive experience in the industry across the creative agency
side at HAVAS, onto The Coca-Cola Company and finally at Riot Games, Alban is very well suited to take G2 to the next level. He commented: “G2 is truly a unique esports organisation, consistently pushing boundaries in competition and entertainment. Our legacy is rich with its combination of unforgettable finals and powerful stories captivating the world. I feel privileged to serve the G2 Army of our fans, players, creators and staff in this mission to unleash the potential of G2 to fight for all trophies and beyond.” The esports giant also sees Sabrina Ratih join the company on a
permanent basis as chief operating officer. Sabrina’s corporate and entrepreneurial experience across commercial, D2C and Web3 makes her the perfect fit to unlock new audiences and diversify revenue streams for G2 to continue operating at the top. She said: “I’ve always been very attached to G2 since Value of We started working for the company in 2018. Since then everyone at G2 has always maintained the same huge ambitions, drive and high performance attitude that still fuel the company to this day. “It’s incredibly rewarding to see how we’re continuing to develop and
grow our global audience outside the parameters of esports, build new digital touch points and leverage our entertainment verticals as a multiplier. I‘m excited for this new challenge and look forward to shaping our next period of growth with the whole G2 collective.” Meanwhile, Philippe Adam is promoted as chief financial officer (previously financial director). His extensive experience, having managed
several strategic, financial, acquisitive initiatives globally will be pivotal for G2’s growth ambitions. Telling powerful stories is at the forefront of G2’s brand ethos and the
leadership revamp brings with it big ambitions for the seasons to come. A key focus will be looking at celebrating and promoting the diverse and unique talents forming the G2 organisation. Since its establishment in 2015, G2 has achieved the highest levels of
performance across every aspect of the business, becoming one of the world’s most talked-about esports and entertainment brands. The ambition of the new leadership team is to support the existing managerial structure and prepare the company for its next growth spurt, unlocking new audiences while staying true to its esports roots. The announcement comes as G2 makes developments across the esports
and entertainment scene. The organisation recently expanded its operations in North America with the creation of a new team to compete in the Valorant Challengers North America league. Meanwhile, in the entertainment space, G2 marked its latest expansion with the release of its latest alt-rock single ‘Detonate’. The track was developed in-house by G2 and will serve as the organisation’s 2023 anthem. In the past seven years, G2 has built a global fanbase of over 35 million
fans spanning EMEA, North American, Latin America and Asia Pacific. International household name brands are increasingly recognising the opportunities that esports can offer to tap into an engaged youth audience. G2 currently counts the likes of Logitech, Red Bull, Herman Miller, Oakley, Ralph Lauren and Mastercard amongst its strategic commercial partners.
