SMARTPHONES - THE APPLE REVOLUTION
Officially the first smartphone was the IBM Simon back in 1992 - but it was definitely Apple that really made it smart - allowing instant access to everything, anywhere. Shazam was my constant companion and one of the first apps that I used consistently. Today I use my phone for everything and anything; contactless payments, plane tickets, online music, music, streaming, working remotely, social media - oh yes the possibilities of the Internet are endless, but I do use it to make phone calls too.
GARMIN SMARTWATCH
My most personal and treasured device - yes more important than my smartphone. My Garmin Venu 2S. My smartwatch really reminds me to stay present, giving me a great overview of my daily activity and reminding me to move after sitting for too long at my desk. I also love being able to participate in the in-app training programmes.
MICROSOFT SURFACE HUB
The Microsoft Surface Hub has revolutionised meeting room culture and even made it easier. It’s smart through intuitive handling to encourage another level of collaboration. The Surface Hub lights up the Microsoft Whiteboard experience with a gorgeous large-screen display and advanced inking capabilities. Steering the meeting room narrative from larger room systems only accessible for IT professionals, towards meeting equity for us all through the ‘one click and join’.
STREAMING SERVICES
Gone are the days of going down to the video store, finding a new VHS and the rush of trying to return it to the store before you’re hit with fines. Now we have streaming services - the on-demand personalised portals that deliver an endless stream of series, films, music. Who knows what I’ll be bingeing next?
