EDITORIAL LET’S GET THIS SHOW ON THE ROAD

I’ll hazard a guess as to why many of us work in this industry. The pull of bikes is a strong one and once you’re in, that’s it. I suppose now is a good time to (briefly) introduce myself. I’m Lauren, the new editor of

BikeBiz. I’ve been in the industry in one guise or another since 2013. If you told me this is where I’d be now, I don’t think I’d ever have believed it. For me, and I imagine many others, 2025 feels a little like a fresh start. I’m optimistic about

what’s to come, but I’m not naive enough to believe the worst is behind us. However, I know the industry is full of passion, talent and endless enthusiasm. Perhaps now, community is more vital than ever. The above refers to both my appointment and the fact COREbike is just around the corner.

I’m looking forward to meeting many of you in person. This issue offers a preview of what’s to come at the show. It’s positive to see so many

brands making their debut and others making their return. As I mention a little later, 20 years of COREbike is quite an achievement. You’ll also find some guidance on staying ahead as an independent retailer (31-32), how the industry can encourage people to commute (41-42) and a look back on 35 years of USE and 20 years of Exposure (24-29). We’ve also got some interesting insight about the ISPO show (37-39).

However, our main focus is COREbike, find new products, get familiarised with the layout

and read about what to expect (7-20). We look forward to seeing many of you there.
