JONATHAN HALE, MEGABIT

Megabit recently appointed Jonathan Hale as CEO, following the merger of Megabit’s publishing team and the award-winning publishing department of Aonic and VR specialists nDreams in late 2025. Matt Broughton caught up with him after a busy GDC

For those not in the know, could you tell us a bit about your industry background? I’ve spent more than 25 years in the games industry, starting at Codemasters in 1999, where I rose to Sales Director and later VP & General Manager for PAL regions. In 2007, I joined Kalypso to establish its UK and International arm, building PR, marketing, and global distribution across key territories. After a stint at SouthPeak leading international

operations, I returned to Kalypso to head up its digital division - where we launched Kasedo Games to bring standout indie titles to market. I’ve been fortunate to work on a wide range of

titles over the years, including Colin McCrae Rally (DiRT), Operation Flashpoint, Tropico, Dungeons, Sudden Strike 4, and more recently Project Highrise, Warhammer 40K: Mechanicus, and IXION.

What was the path that led you to your current position? After establishing Kasedo as a leading ‘triple-I’ publisher, I was ready for a new challenge. Around that time, Aonic approached me about leading Megabit. The more I saw - the team, the games, the

ambition - the clearer it became that this was an opportunity to build something special.

What were your first key tasks when you stepped into the CEO role? First and foremost: people, products, and partnerships. I focused on getting to know the team, understanding our games and vision, and connecting with our development partners to ensure we’re setting every project up for success.
