Fairtrade Foundation appoints Dr. Nyagoy Nyong’O as new chair With Nyagoy’s appointment,
The Fairtrade Foundation has appointed Dr. Nyagoy Nyong’o as Chair of its Board of Trustees, following Lord Mark Price’s term. Nyagoy, a Kenyan national, is a seasoned leader in global Fairtrade, having served as CEO of Fairtrade Africa and later as global CEO of Fairtrade International until 2022. She brings deep knowledge of Fairtrade, global supply chains, and the climate crisis, alongside experience as a FLOCERT auditor and a PhD in forestry. Nyagoy’s upbringing, with her
mother as a small-scale farmer, shaped her advocacy for farming communities. Working from Kenya, October 1st, with plans for regular UK visits to align efforts with the needs of farmers and workers. She emphasises the importance of closer producer involvement in decision- making, ensuring Fairtrade remains authentic and impactful.
Michael Gidney will step down as CEO at the end of the year after 12 years of leadership. Under his tenure, Fairtrade UK became widely recognized, with 92% public awareness and 88% trust in the FAIRTRADE Mark. In 2023, Fairtrade generated £28 million in Premium for producers, saw cocoa sales grow by 6%, tea by 5%, and a revenue increase of 11% to £13.4 million.

KM Packaging adds Martin Penney to customer operations team
KM Packaging has announced the appointment of Martin Penney as a Customer Operations Specialist. With extensive experience in customer service and operations management, Martin brings a wealth of knowledge and a passion for excellence that aligns with KM’s commitment to delivering reliable and innovative packaging solutions to its global customer base. Martin has over 15 years of experience
in retail and order management. He has successfully led teams and managed complex logistics in previous roles. His background includes a decade as
a store manager, responsible for hitting key performance indicators and managing costs, and most recently, as an Order

technology payments sector. In his new role at KM Packaging, Martin
will manage the customer journey from the time an order is placed until it reaches its destination. He will oversee international shipping logistics, manage stock levels, and ensure that KM’s customers’ needs are

problem-solving ability, a background in logistics, and an ability to multitask. He is particularly passionate about

the guitar, watching football, and juggling! unicycle, and balance a chair on my chin!” With his diverse skill set and
