Panasonic announces a host of new electricals


At the Panasonic European Convention 2019, held last month in Frankfurt, Panasonic announced several new products across its entire range, from OLED televisions, headphones and soundbars, kitchen appliances and Blu-ray players.

HDR10+ and Dolby Vision available across expanded TV range


At CES in January, Panasonic launched its fl agship OLED TV for 2019, the GZ2000. Now,


Panasonic has announced


that some of the model’s features are available across its entire OLED and LCD TV 2019 models, apart from the entry- level 4K LCD series. This year there will be four OLED


offerings – the GZ2000, GZ1500, GZ1000 and GZ950 – all of which support HDR10+ and Dolby Vision. Also with these platforms, there will


also be three new 4K LCD series this year – the GX920 (available only in 75- inch screen size), GX800 and GX700. Sound is boosted by built-in upward-


fi ring speakers on the GZ2000 and this and all other models (except the GX700 4K LCDs) also support Dolby Atmos. All OLED screens and LCD models down to the GX800 support HLG Photo, the new still image format that brings stills photography into the HDR world. All OLED models also work with popular voice assistants so can integrate seamlessly with a Smart Home setup.

Also at the Panasonic Convention, the company unveiled the SC-HTB900 and SC-HTB700 soundbars. Both support Dolby Atmos and DTS:X, the latest state-of-the-art object-based audio formats that deliver the most immersive

soundstage possible by placing sound where it would occur naturally in space. The SC-HTB900 features built-in


Chromecast for optimum audio quality with smartphone control. They also offer Works with Google Assistant, allowing hands-free playback control using voice commands.


Partly made with input from Panasonic’s acclaimed audio specialists, Technics, the HTB900 can handle a wide range of movies and music and it also comes equipped with a new Berlin Philharmonic Hall Mode, which reproduces the magnifi cent sound fi eld of one of the world’s greatest concert halls.


A wireless experience Elsewhere in Frankfurt, the Technics division of Panasonic unveiled two new wireless headphones products, the EAH-F70N and EAH-F50B. Both models support LDAC/apt-X HD for wireless, high-res equivalent sound reproduction.


Backed by high rigidity and high


internal damping, the use of 40-mm dynamic drivers, consisting of composite performance fi lm (CPF) diaphragm and precise air control structure enables the new models to faithfully reproduce the delicate nuances of music and dynamic sound. The EAH-F70 features Technics’ original wide-band hybrid active noise- cancelling to allow immersion in music under virtually any environment. As well as this, Panasonic announced two new sets of design-lead headphones, one Bluetooth on-ear (HF410B) and one new in-ear (NJ310B), inspired by a Athleisure design, a fashion industry movement.


The slim design and deep tone colours of the HF410 and NJ310 fi t this fashion; both models come in black, blue, red, green and white. In addition, there are two new sets of headphones from Panasonic featuring a retro modern style. One Bluetooth

over ear (HTX90N) pair and one new in-ear (HTX20B) buds, these wireless headphones are a new addition to the HTX series, expanding the line-up with their iconic retro and lightweight design.


‘Experience Fresh’


For the kitchen appliances market, Panasonic announced the introduction of its new microwave ovens, extending its small kitchen appliance range for healthy, fresh food.


The new line-up of microwave ovens include the NN-CD87 slimline combination microwave oven and the ST Series, solo microwave ovens with Inverter technology – the NN-ST48K / NN-ST46K / NN-ST45K. It also comprises the new 20-litre NN-S29K solo microwave oven. Completing the announcement of Panasonic’s new microwave ovens is the new built-in HL range, which offers integrated Inverter technology and user- friendly auto programmes.
