Shopfloor TAKE A TOWN

Sheffi eld 36

Our mystery shopping team has been out and about in Sheffield to check up on the sales skills of electrical retailers across the city.

Williams Electrical, Chesterfi eld Road

THIS retailer was established in 1905 and today operates on the busy A61, which runs south of the city. I was looking to buy a new vacuum cleaner. Inside the store, which was busy with three other customers, I started to browse and was then greeted by Karen. I said that after years of buying supermarket vacuum cleaners, I wanted to buy a lighter, reliable cleaner as my wife is disabled. Karen briefl y presented a Bosch model, before mentioning the advancements that Dyson has made in its stick cleaners. After briefl y mentioning the Dyson V6, V7

and V8 models, which were priced at £199.99, £249.99 and £319.99, Karen said that the V10 would best suit my needs.

She said the V10, which was priced at £449.99, could well replace upright cleaners. Karen highlighted the large waste bin and said that the V10 has a run-time of around 40 mins. Karen

then demonstrated the cleaner,

encouraging me to use it, as well as pick it up. She then demonstrated the slide-in dock, which was mounted on the wall, which also holds the cleaning accessories.
