The robotic revolution is here to stay…

… And it’s good news for consumers and

retailers alike. The purpose of robots should be to automate tasks that humans find tedious or impossible for us to do. The robotic vacuum cleaner practically fits both criteria. Blaupunkt, a respected name in the consumer

electronics market, has launched a product line of robotic vacuum cleaners that can play a key role in making our lives more comfortable and easier, as well as providing a new market opportunity for independent retailers. The consumer robotics market is evolving with an increased demand for household, toy and educational robots. Data from analyst firm, Tractica, forecast global sales to surpass 50 million units annually by 2022 in a market worth up to $13bn. Almost negligible a few years ago, the robotic vacuum cleaner market has grown considerably in Western Europe. Although still niche, it is one of the fastest

growing small domestic appliance categories. Indeed, Global Market Insights has predicted that the robotic vacuum cleaner market will record substantial growth owing to various state-of-the-art features, such as automated mapping, mobile support, self-charging and sweeping brushes. The analyst believes the market will be worth $3.5bn by 2024. Interest in robotic vacuum cleaners has

increased for a number of reasons. Firstly, smart tech is increasingly being adopted in the home, fuelled by the growth of voice assistants. Secondly, the UK has seen an almost continual rise in the proportion of women in full-time employment; with both partners working, any help with household chores is welcome. Thirdly, there is a rising awareness regarding

indoor pollution, particularly for those with asthma and allergies. Dust is a contributory factor and regular vacuuming is highly recommended for cleanliness and hygiene in the home. With the Blaupunkt bluebot xsmart robot vacuum cleaner, you can clean most floor types, supporting both dry and wet vacuuming with two attachments for different types of cleaning (hard floor and carpet). It can clean up to 180 square metres with an operation time of up to 140 minutes, with an automatic

four-hour charge. Control of the bluebot xsmart robot vacuum cleaner can be from its touch display, the IR remote control, by smartphone or an Alexa/ Google speaker. You can set it to run on a desired day or time and whether you are in or out the house.

For independent retailers, the robotic

vacuum cleaner provides a great opportunity to take advantage of a growing market and the increasing interest in home automation appliances.
