News Euronics Showcase returns in April


Combined Independents (Holdings) Ltd (CIH), part of Euronics, is hosting the Euronics Showcase at the NEC Birmingham on 7 and 8 April 2019.

The member-only Showcase has a record number of suppliers, helping to maximise the experience for CIH members and Euronics agents. The suppliers extend across a breadth of product categories including white goods, brown goods, small domestic appliances and vacuum cleaners. In addition, suppliers that offer a range of services to CIH members will also attend the 2019 Showcase. This provides the opportunity for members to meet with suppliers, familiarise themselves with the latest products and see the new product launches, while taking advantage of the raft of manufacturers’ promotions. For the fi rst time ever, invitations to the Showcase will be extended to potential new members. Stuart Cook, Chief Executive Offi cer, CIH (pictured) , explained: “We have recently expanded our membership opportunities and we’d like to encourage those who are interested in joining the buying group to come along to the Showcase.


“It is an excellent opportunity to meet and engage with our suppliers and manufacturers. It is certainly not to be missed for those looking to stay ahead of the competition.”

Improved consumer website now live As part of the rebrand, CIH has launched its new and improved eCommerce website.


The new site details the latest major and small domestic appliances as well as TV and audio products available to consumers. In addition, it can also direct consumers to their


nearest Euronics store, advise of delivery and installation options and consumers are now able to select ‘click and collect’ as a delivery option. Mr Blair added: “With the increase in online retail, especially for electrical items, we needed to up our game. The advent of this new and extensive platform for Euronics means it is one of the best online offerings in the UK.”


Home appliance and entertainment sales lead the way for LG


LG Electronics has announced record full-year revenues of KRW 61.3 trillion (GPB 41.8 billion or USD 54.4 billion) in 2018, exceeding sales of 60 trillion won for the second year in a row. Profitability from the appliances and


home entertainment sectors was the highest in LG history, with an increase of nearly 10 per cent from 2017 to KRW 2.70 trillion (USD 2.40 billion). The company reported that fourth quarter revenues were higher than the third quarter in 2018, but seven per cent


lower than the last quarter of 2017 due to lower mobile products sales. The LG Home Entertainment Company recorded full-year revenues of KRW 16.21 trillion (USD 14.37 billion) with a record-high profit of KRW 1.52 trillion (USD 1.35 billion).


Going forward, the manufacturer


reported that it intends to grow both revenue and operating profit by focusing on increasing sales of premium OLED TVs and large-screen Ultra HD TVs.
