10 A few thank yous… I
can’t believe it’s been two weeks already since the ERT Turning Point Live Conference and ERT Awards took place in London! It was a brilliant day and it was so great to see so many of you there – thank you for joining us!
As with tradition, the day started with the Turning Point Live Conference and I must say a massive thank you to our wonderful speakers for sharing their insights and expertise throughout the morning. The theme centred around future prospects for the electrical retail industry, while the retailer panel came together to share their views on the sector and the biggest issues
facing their businesses at the moment… including the hot topic of manufacturers selling direct to consumers. It was certainly a jam-packed morning with lots of
useful information provided in each presentation; I hope you managed to take some of this away with you. Then of course, after lunch and a few drinks, we had the ERT Awards in the afternoon! And huge congratulations to all of this year’s winners and highly commended! We handed out 16 trophies to some very worthy winners including independent retailers, manufacturers and distributors. It was amazing to see everyone in such high spirits throughout the afternoon!
And thank you to everyone that took the time to enter the Awards during what has been an extremely busy year. It’s so important for the industry to come together and celebrate everyone’s hard work and your continuing success. For me, the day itself simply flew by! Arriving at the crack of dawn for build-up and rehearsals and hosting duties during the Turning Point Conference, before I knew it the Awards was in full swing and then I was sipping a celebratory beer (or two) in the pub across the road! It was brilliant to catch so many of you in there for the unofficial, but now customary, after party! I need to say another big thank you to this year’s sponsors, without whom the event simply wouldn’t be possible, and also to all my colleagues behind the scenes for all their amazing hard work ensuring we put on the best ERT Awards yet!
