Hoover’s vacuum feature Corner Genie technology
Miele’s Duoflex HX1 cordless stick vacuum
comes in five different models: the Duoflex HX1 (in three colour variants), Duoflex HX1 Extra, Duoflex HX1 CarCare, Duoflex HX1 Cat & Dog and Duoflex HX1 TotalCare. “The Duoflex, which is set to launch soon, is to our commitment
a testament to blending Hoover’s HL4 vacuum. Bosch has introduced its Unlimited 7
cordless vacuums, which come equipped with an Autodetect function. “These vacuums come with the distinctive Bosch power-for-all battery system,” adds Ms King. “This system is a game-changer in terms of versatility and convenience. The battery from the vacuum can be used interchangeably with other power tools in your home, and vice versa.” The manufacturer tells ERT that it has two major launches planned for this year; the first product is a vacuum which it describes as “a step forward in ensuring an even cleaner and healthier living environment”. Its second product is a two-in-one solution which recognises the importance of time-efficiency, providing an option to combine different cleaning tasks.
The latest Hoover technology Elsewhere, Hoover has recently unveiled its Corner Genie technology - available in its HFX upright stick vacuum. The new technology allows your consumers to clean hard-to-reach corners, with its increased manoeuvrability. “The
Hoover name carries a great
responsibility,” says Micaela Marcon, Global Senior Candy and Hoover Brand Manager. “Being the forefather of this sector and in the homes of millions of people for so long, has encouraged us to seek a real revolution. Thanks to the linear foldable design and thanks to Corner Genie, the extraordinary technology really does allow you to reach every corner.” Hoover’s appliance also includes its no- touch bin emptying feature to help eliminate the possibility of mess. Its vacuum can hold up to 1.2 litres of dust and comes complete with Anti-Twist technology, which prevents tangles from forming in the brushbar.
The manufacturer also offers its HL4, labelling it the “most powerful no-loss-of-suction lightweight upright vacuum cleaner ever”. It is lightweight, weighing in at 5kg, and has an ergonomic, soft-grip handle which makes it easy and comfortable to use; the HL4 is also fitted with LED lights that enable your consumers to see into every nook and cranny. The Chinese manufacturer encourages
retailers to train staff about the benefits of its products so they can assist customers in finding the right product to fit their needs. Another option is Miele’s Duoflex HX1
Cordless vacuum, which features its new SpeedLock functionality that enables consumers to swiftly switch between stick and handheld cleaning. With up to 260 watts of power available to your consumers, the vacuum has a runtime of 55 minutes on a single charge whilst also being lightweight and comes with a range of accessories and tools. The HX1 features an extendable flexible
XL crevice nozzle so you can reach under furniture, while its electroBrush is also ideal for cleaning upholstery and its hose extension provides consumers the extra reach in order for them to clean shelving and ceilings.

beautiful design with exceptional performance, all at an accessible price point,” comments Meile’s Senior Brand Manager – Vacuums, Dan Young. He points out that the future of robot vacuums is an interesting topic; he states that they currently occupy a niche market, but it remains to be seen if advancements will push them into the mainstream. Mr Young explains that Miele has always put
user convivence above everything else, which has earned it top ratings from independent evaluators like Which?.
“Despite the majority of vacuum sales occurring online, as reported by GfK, the role of physical stores in the consumer decision- making process cannot be overstated,” says Mr Young. “They facilitate an understanding that often leads to the final purchase decision, even if it’s made online.”
Retailers should be asking what consumers
require from their new appliance, such as whether they have pets at home.
Purrfect for pet owners
“The UK has had a surge of pet owners since the pandemic in 2020, and with corded vacuums maintaining strong suction throughout use without requiring recharge, they are the perfect solution for pet owners” explains Jemma Pendlebury, Product Manager at Product Care Group, which has a partnership with Russell Hobbs. “We’ve seen strong sales in our pet variation models. >>
