AND FINALLY
‘Keyline Come Dancing’ raises £25K for Prostate Cancer UK
Keyline has raised over £25,000 at its inaugural charity dance-off at the Blackpool Tower Ballroom. On July 7, Keyline’s senior leadership team and representatives from key suppliers paired with husbands, wives and partners to dance in front of 250 guests after weeks of training with professional dancers. Each couple danced a Jive or Waltz, with the audience and judges voting for each performance. The judging was led by choreographer, Louie Spence, and the evening featured Strictly Come Dancing
Professionals Ian Waite and Faye Huddleston.
The finale saw six couples perform the Cha Cha Cha. After an impressive final round of dances and against stiff competition, Keyline managing director Dean Pinner and his wife Julia were crowned champions.
The total raised on the night was donated to Prostate Cancer UK, to support its lifesaving research to find better ways to diagnose and treat prostate cancer. Pinner said: “Sadly, prostate cancer is now the most commonly diagnosed cancer in the UK. That’s why raising money for Prostate Cancer UK is so important for us, both as a business and as individuals. Collaboration sits at the heart of everything we do, and Keyline Come Dancing has been a great way to get colleagues and suppliers together again.”
Selco supports staff at Croydon Fire Station
Selco Builders Warehouse’s South Croydon branch has donated more than £750 worth of building materials for a well-being garden at Croydon Fire Station. The new-look garden will include benches, plants and eating areas to support the mental health of staff who deal with traumatic incidents.
Oliver Young, leading firefighter on Croydon Green Watch, said: “We’re so grateful to Selco
for their backing and allowing us to create this valuable space for our colleagues. “The South Croydon branch has been fantastic in helping us with these materials. We have 80 firefighters working here across four watches and we are also a technical rescue station, so we do tend to deal with larger incidents. This garden will give our firefighters a tranquil place to use to take time away from the challenges they face in their jobs.”
